An unflinching 71-year-old woman gave a group of would-be teen muggers a taste of their own medicine when they tried to mug the senior on her way to church on New Year’s Day.
The gutsy straphanger fought off the four female teens as they punched and stomped on her during the botched robbery on the New York City subway system, the latest in a string of crimes on the Big Apple’s crime-ridden transit network.
The victim was on her way to a church service on New Year's Day in Brooklyn at around 6 p.m. when she got off a Number 3 train at Hoyt Station – only to be set upon by the teens, according to the NYPD and a New York Post report.
Police say the four suspects tried to steal the woman’s bag and struck her on the body. The NYPD released video of the group smiling as they pass through subway turnstiles and police say they are still on the loose. They have asked for the public's help in tracking them down.

Sounds like the 71 year old is going to be facing some serious prison time for committing the crime of self defense. Alvin Bragg isn’t going to tolerate that.
Aggravating factor, as well - she was headed to church.
These girls have been taught that all white people are privileged oppressors and that all POC are oppressed. That is why they feel justified in making these attacks, over, and over, and over.
I HATE saying this and I hope i’m wrong...but I think some (or more than some) FReepers LIKE seeing people suffer in the blue states and cities.

There is PLENTY of crime in a LOT of red states...some of the acts are really sick...i’ve seen them on true crime shows...LOTS.

Oh yes they did know what they were doing- they have embarked on a life of crime- Don’t make excuses for them- they have 2 choices in life- and they have chosen poorly!
I wonder about that too. I’ve heard some people on this site, ask others why the heck do you live in California or Illinois or New York ?
I don’t know if Freepers like to hear these stories, but when these stories are reported, many will say this is just more evidence why you should not live in these places.
One of the good scenes in the last years of Blue Bloods was the gray haired old couple being set upon by thugs as they walked slowly on the city sidewalk. Turned out to be Jamie and Eddie working undercover in wigs and quickly twisting some wrists and cuffing the punks.

Rush actually specifically spoke about that (he lived in NYC to be on his early decade of radio in the studio before moving to Florida and setting up in his home for broadcasts).
He said everyone who says they live in NYC for the theater, the museums, the restaurants, concerts and the urban excitement are lying. All of them hate the hostile panhandlers, people spitting or throwing up on the sidewalk in front of them, the aggressive muggers in daily reports, the constant threat of crime, the terrible gridlock traffic every single day and the congestion and fumes in the air outside.
He said they are only tolerating NY for the money. If they could get that money somewhere else, they would.
You do know that “teen” is news speak for black youths, right?

Yes, crime happens everywhere. There was a story a few years ago in OK, three masked men, with edged weapons, broke into some guy’s house. Guy had an AR-15 and killed all three of them. You never hear stories like that coming from NYC because both gun ownership (and especially sport utility rifle ownership) and also self-defense are generally banned there. Florida has several sheriffs who advise gun ownership and have said they prefer it if good citizens shoot criminals. Crime isn’t absent in those places, but it’s less than it is in deep blue cities, for some unknown reason.
Or maybe for a known reason.
