The majority of likely American voters says the United States does not need any more foreign H-1B visa workers to fill white-collar jobs, a new poll finds.
A Rasmussen Reports survey reveals that 6-in-10 Americans say the U.S. “already has enough talented people to train and recruit” for white-collar jobs when asked whether Congress should increase the inflow of foreign workers, primarily those arriving through the H-1B visa program.
Meanwhile, just 26 percent of Americans say Congress should increase the number of foreign visa workers taking white-collar jobs.
Republicans and swing voters, in particular, say the U.S. has enough American talent for such jobs and does not need more foreign visa workers.
The survey shows that 72 percent of Republicans, 63 percent of swing voters, and a plurality of 47 percent of Democrats say the U.S. has talented people who can be trained and recruited for open white-collar jobs.

No elected official will.
The majority of Americans have no idea how these programs work.
Truth be told, we don’t even need the ones that are already here.

I remember when President Trump came out for more gun laws. It was the radar of his 1st Administration. The base went ballistic, and he backed off. Now, I don’t know if that os the situation here. This COULD be used for good if the H- 1b system can be reformed.

“Trump will not buck these numbers.”
In a sense he already did by voicing support for the visa. He’ll reform it to make sure it isn’t abused and most people will be happy with the result.
We don’t need any more immigrants period.
Do they need a doctor STAT?
Or can they wait a few years to see one?
And if folks don’t think that’s an issue, I cordially invite you to try to make an appointment with a specialist MD in Upstate NY.
I won’t hold my breath while we both wait.
You are correct
That’s what I want, reform it twoards Americans.
Move ‘em on, head ‘em up, head ‘em up, move ‘em on
Move ‘em on, hhead ‘em up, rawhide
The replacement disgusts me. Driving up costs, sowing discord, stretching our systems too thin. I hate it! Kick Elon to the damn curb and take vivek with you.
::the U.S. has talented people who can be trained and recruited for open white-collar jobs.::
Boy - I wouldn’t count on that. Just try to do business over the phone or even in person with someone in a business - whether medical or otherwise.. I don’t see any great talent or chance of training those born and raised here so I’m not inclined to believe any can be trained.
I’ve been following/tracking a package I mailed at USPS on the 16th which still hasn’t arrived at the destination - within the same city..FINALLY reached an actual person at the local USPS and he informed me that FIRST CLASS MAIL can take as long as 30 days to be delivered - perhaps will be delivered next week some time!!! I asked him if he was SERIOUS and he said, YES....And USPS wants a rate increase????
I asked for his name and he said, “I’m Mr. XXXXXXX.” I said, “I’m sure you are.” He didn’t think that was funny. But it was obvious that it wasn’t a real name. I think the last time I heard that name was in Grimm’s Fairy Tales and that was many moons ago.
Who says Mr or Miss or Mrs when asked for their name? The poor guy didn’t realize that the public knows NO ONE on the other end of a phone call states their real name. Good grief - they could be held responsible for bad information!!!!
Can be trained - no chance!!!!

Joe Sixpack’s opinion on this matter is utterly uninformed and meaningless.
Don’t be so sure. Saw article claiming he loves the H1-B program.
