Did Assad Make a Bombshell Deal With Israel to Spare His Life?
PJ Media ^ | December 19, 2024 | Stephen Green

Posted on 12/20/2024 4:34:46 AM PST by george76

Deposed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia less than two weeks ago, but his escape may have been facilitated by the Israelis in exchange for bombshell information. Literally.

First, though, Assad is enjoying his rest in Moscow, where he and his family have been granted asylum... But not all is well for Assad

...

terms of Assad's asylum:

Bashar is strictly prohibited from engaging in political activity or leaving Moscow without prior approval from Russian authorities.

Asma al-Assad filed for divorce through a Russian court and requested permission to leave Moscow for London; her request is still under review.

Bashar is barred from accessing or managing his movable and immovable assets until a decision is made by the relevant authorities. His assets in Russia include 270 kilograms of gold, $2 billion, and 18 apartments in the "City of Capitals" complex located in Moscow's prestigious skyscraper district.

Maher al-Assad has not yet been granted asylum; his request remains under review. He and his family are currently under house arrest.

That third point has got to stick in Assad's throat. He stole that money fair and square, but now Vladimir Putin will take his cut — presumably significant. I'm rather amused that Asma has filed for divorce now that Bashar has lost power. .

...

the Israeli Air Force has done an miraculous job of eliminating much of what's left of Assad's Syrian Arab Army... the IAF destroyed 85% of the SAA's combat power in a matter of days before it could fall into the hands of ISIS or HTS.

...

Israel was able to destroy the military of one of its most implacable enemies, and all it cost was allowing the delivery of that enemy into the tender mercies of Vladimir Putin.

Such a bargain

The gold is chump change, only about 18 million dollars worth at today’s price of $2600 per troy ounce.

I doubt if the Israelis had anything to do with sparing this guy’s life. He most likely had Russian protection once it was realized the curtains were about to close on his regime.

One day you’re massacring thousands of your own citizens and driving supercars in a warm country,

the next you’re driving a Lada p.o.s and eating potatoes in a frozen hellhole

Oh, the wacky life of a murderous dictator!

Stephen Green is the worst kind of paranoid lying fraudster. Anything he says is either made up of whole cloth, or a vague truth twisted beyond recognition. Untrustworthy in every way.

No. Assad and Netanyahu did not make a deal. Netanyahu is not that craven. And Assad is too big a liar to give honest information.

At around $84/g it’s more like $22.7 million.

270 kg x 32.1507 troy oz/kg x $2,600/troy oz = $22,569,791.40

270 kg x 1000 g/kg x $84/g = $22,680,000.00

Not chump change, but not national debt numbers

per Google AI search

“As of December 19, 2024, the price of gold is $83,955.18 per kilogram. This means that 270 kilograms of gold is worth approximately $22,886,650.”

“but now Vladimir Putin will take his cut — presumably significant.”

This is enough to tell me that the ENTIRE STORY is fabricated by another Russia-hating ‘journalist’.

We’ll see soon enough if any of the story winds up being true.

Never trust the “AI” answers on google. They are wrong, as is your post based on them.

BS story. Like anyone involved would talk.

Certainly not Assad. He didn’t even tell his family he was fleeing. He certainly wouldn’t leak damaging info like this.

And the Israeli intelligence runs a tight ship.

This is just classic “blame the Jews” ME rumor mongering.
