Israeli Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli called for the internartional coomunity to grant and recognize the independence of Kurdistan as Kurdish regions in northern Syria face attacks from Turkey and Turkish-backed rebel groups.

"Kurdistan must be granted independence, while Erdoğan should be expelled from NATO and left to crown himself as the caliph of an Islamic state, ruling alongside his friends in ISIS and Al-Qaeda," Chikli wrote on X.

Chikli's comments were made in response to an interview given by a Kurdish journalist in Syria with Israel's Kan News channel.

Couldn’t agree with this more but neither are likely to come to fruition.

I’m sure Erdogan is perfectly willing to give up ‘his’ nukes.

It gets better. We now have senior policy analysts at the AEI calling on the USA to attack Turkey.

I have to say, whoever it was that said Turkey overthrew Syria to make a land bridge to attack Israel, hit it right on the head.

A lot of trouble to go through just to attack Israel by land, when the Med is a much quicker and easier route, and the Kurds and Turks are already on terms of enmity. The former are not inclined to let Turkish soldiers march through their hills unimpeded for any reason.

Erdogen is very dangerous and highly aggressive towards turkey’s neighbors.

One can hope. I never thought the US Embassy would move to Jerusalem or the Abraham Accords would happen.

Turkey is becoming a very big problem.

I will argue that Turkey is a basket case and Erdogan is pretending to be relevant. He can’t really do anything much for the very simple reason he is flat broke.

It is easier and better to tolerate his ineffective nonsense than to take direct and perhaps harmful action against him

Erdoğan may end up getting overextended in Syria. His economy is crap.

Iran appeared to be strong. They sponsored their proxy Hezbollah. But not Hezbollah got knocked out. And Iran lost their puppet in Assad. So Iran is a paper tiger.

And the Kurds already know that. Mountain and jungle fighting are always meat grinders, and if Israel and the Kurds form an alliance against Erdogan, the Kurds will be raining down hell on a Turkish column from high ground, said hell having been supplied courtesy of Israel. As for NATO, absent an act of aggression against Turkey, they are not going to support an incursion into Syria or against the Kurds, and the Kurds of Turkey will cause trouble in their rear if they’re attacking their relatives in Syria. Saladin was a Kurd, and a formidable man.

If Turkey wants to throw down on Israel, they can just put together a flotilla and sail across a little ocean and get it on. No need for all that complicated fuss and bother, when they just want to form a Caliphate and do some jihad against the evil Jooos! and their uppity, genocidal refusal to be dhimme.

I hope Erdogan doesn’t read this.

And likely to no longer be worth the paper the rial is printed on, once Trump is in office, which is already driving its value down as we speak.

If Erdogan want to start a war with Israel, the more fool he. He’ll be all alone in that endeavor, and every war in which Israel was defending its own territory, we’ve won big, the exception being against the Romans a few millennia ago.

If Turkey wanted to march on Israel, I don’t think it would matter who was in charge of Syria. But Erdogan would definitely like to be the new caliph, subduing the Kurds and not above carving out a chunk of Syrian territory for himself.

And that was with a reluctant POTUS trying to pander to Muslims in Michigan and the youth base by holding up arms shipments. With Trump in the WH, we’ll be having Turkey for supper.

It’s usually easier to sink invading busts than to repel invading tanks.

Invading boats can be repelled by defending boats, as well as by shore batteries and from the air.

Tanks can be roadblocked, have incendiaries thrown down the hatch, land mined, hit by defending tanks, from the air by drones, planes and missiles, or by swarms of infantry on the flanks and up close, where the cannon can’t reach.
