18 years after the Duke lacrosse allegations, Crystal Mangum admits that she testified falsely against them
"I testified falsely against [the lacrosse players] by saying that they raped me when they didn't...I made up a story that wasn't true...I hope that they can forgive me."
She was convicted of second-degree murder in 2013 for the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Reginald Daye, and sentenced to serve between 14 and 18 years
Wow that was 18 years ago??
In her own words

Crystal Mangum? (shaking head)
.
What l remember is the despicable rat prosecutor trying to lynch those guys.
And there was that deranged maniac local prosecutor!
One of the worst national lynchings ever, and of innocent college kids, but it is good that something changed in her, remember the effect that Passion of the Christ had with criminals and even murderers coming forward.
The sovereign remedy, IMHO, would be to overturn the New York Times Co. v. Sullivan decision - and make libel punishable in civil court, as it was before the framing of the Constitution. And as it was up until 1964, when the Warren Court ran wild, with its 9-0 Sullivan decision.
But part of me wants to believe that Musk”s “X” platform, with its “community notes” function, might be on the right track. The trouble with a libel suit is that by the time it reaches a verdict, the result can be moot.
That was covered and dissected in detail here. Anyone here following it closely knew within 2-3 weeks that those guys were innocent and she was lying. It’s why I can’t stand Coach K, he could have and should have known what was going on in his university community and stood up for those kids, using his influence. Instead he just hunkered down and protected his program.
I think the prosecutor may have lost his law license.
The professors who took out that ad attacking the kids should have lost their jobs.
He's the Governor today.

Racist!
You believe rich privileged white boys instead of a black stripper whose just trying to put food on the table for her child
Sexist!!
(No really that basically summed it up at first)
ESPN actually made a good documentary about it on their 30/30 series called, Fantastic Lies. It’s a great watch and it makes my blood boil every time I watch it, to see how Duke, Nifong, and the entire MSM tried to railroad those kids.
There was a settlement between Duke and the players but of course there is an NDA.
They played games with the DNA evidence. That’s one of the reasons Nifong lost his law license.
I second this. If anyone here has not seen this documentary,I would highly recommend it. One of the better documentaries I’ve seen and from a bit of a surprising source.
Kinda reminds you of Bragg and the cr** they’ve been pulling on President Trump.
It was woke BS in triplicate.
Jon Stewart had some fun with it going after CNN’s Nancy Grace.

Not the best clip, but has his evisceration of her, which she richly deserved. He gets thing right every now and then.
I would say to lock her up and throw away the key but she already is in prison. So, I say, “Keep her there for life.” This horrible person had worked hard to ruin the lives of a group of college students, and that a-hole of a district attorney went along with her gig just to make himself look good. Fortunately, he got his just desserts in the end.
David Nifong I believe...
Duke University's former senior vice president, John Burness, told The News & Observer in February 2017 that, while at Duke, Miller "seemed to assume that if you were in disagreement with him, there was something malevolent or stupid about your thinking—incredibly intolerant." According to Jane Stancill of The News & Observer, during the Duke lacrosse case, Miller's was the "lonely voice insisting that the players were innocent." History professor KC Johnson described Duke's atmosphere during the case as not "conducive to speaking up" and praised Miller's role in it: "I think it did take a lot of courage, and he has to get credit for that."[21] Miller devoted more of his school paper column, "Miller Time," to the lacrosse scandal than any other topic.[23]
