Tuesday on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) weighed on the apparent collapse of the Democratic Party in the wake of the November 5 elections.
He told host Jesse Watters that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was to blame for the destruction of the Democratic Party.

Pelosi stage a soft coup against Biden. She thought it was for the good of the party. What she didn’t plan on was an idiot like Biden would be the frontrunner.
Nancy’s work goes back decades. Ever since she was first elected speaker, she had made the Democrats even more the party of the Deep State.
There was a lot of similar discussion about the destruction of the DEM party after the 2016 elections. Two years later, 2018 happened, and the country’s nightmare with the DEM party had resurfaced. A nightmare that has lasted six long years, and I believe has caused damaged that we will not be able to recover from.
They are not destroyed any more than the republicans were destroyed in 2018 mid-terms, when republicans lost 40 house seats. These things go back and fourth. Reagan rejuvenated the republican party, and Obama made democrats look unstoppable for a while.

I believe the reports of the death of the democrat party are highly premature. These people are well financed, undeterred, and not going to go down without a fight. Already in congress they are raking out the ossified old guard to make room for new more viable leaders. Replacing Pelosi with Jeffries, eg, is a good step for the party, really bad for America. In 2026 they will be back at it.
