The closures are part of a strategic effort to streamline operations and focus on more profitable locations amid rising operational costs and stiff competition.
Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner said the restaurant selected for closure are “outdated and located in underperforming areas,” according to CEO Today.
The closures are expected to end by year's end.
Two Ohio locations were among the first to close, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Other locations of scheduled closures have not been released.
Customers voiced frustration over increasing menu prices and declining food quality, reflecting challenges that have impacted the chain’s weaker-performing stores.
Despite these closures, Wendy’s remains committed to growth.
With over 6,500 locations worldwide, Wendy’s plans to offset these closures with the addition of about 250 to 300 new outlets in strategic markets, CNN reports.

Plus shrinkflation

To expensive. Period.
Yes, Wendy’s has gone downhill.
Plus few want to work with the public, so there are reasons I don’t go to them as much lately. I avoid at least one restaurant. Last time I went it was kinda expensive but that’s true everywhere.
Except McDonald’s. Occasionally Taco Bell but McDonald’s still has better deals on a daily basis.
Let us not forget unfortunate advertising:
There is NO crab in the Crabby Patty. It is just a burger with a nice sauce. The drink that comes with it needs to be eaten with a spoon (they don’t even supply a straw) so is not an item for the drive through.
Sponge Bob is rolling in his watery grave!
Dave died and the quality crashed.
Burp!

HELLO stupid people!
Higher prices....
All they have to do is zap us with the Men In Black neuralyzer device set to make us forget low prices before Bidenomics ruined America.
LOL
Jerome Powell wants you to know that President-Elect Trump ‘will not be able to fire Powell’, even after Trump officially becomes our president.
Yeah, it was a “Pineapple Frosty” that came with the “Krabby Patty MEAL”, but I have to agree a bit with “Louie82”...kinda strange to have no beverage included with a “meal” at a fast food place.
Wendy’s? No. Burger King? No. Jack in the Box? No. Taco Bell? Hell no. Macdonald’s? No. That is not food and food does not need an adjective in front of it to be made fast. But hey, it’s you gut
Go for it, fast.
It gives me no problem EXCEPT for about 30-40 yeas ago I got bad Big Macs (two separate times, once each decade)
They must have left that mayo out for awhile
The only other places that got me (once each) were a Del Taco (I think), a Hardee’s with “street tacos” - BAD - wound up blowing a toll booth in Oklahoma to hit the restroom (somehow had the ability to back the rental car up and throw some change in) and a local pizza place with some bad mushrooms but that was like 45 years ago.
Otherwise, fast food is no problem - I do love to cook but I hate cleaning up all the mess (yay dishwasher)
I hope they don’t close the Wendy’s nearest me, in Oregon.. It’s located between Tacos El Machin and Beaver Bowls Cannabis Showroom. Prime Real Estate.
Says who? I haven't been to Wendy's in years but back in the day I got frosty's at the drive through all the time. Never had any trouble eating one and driving.
I used to love getting a Sour Cream and Chive potato. Now those things are over $4!! I could understand going from .99 for years to maybe $2.50, but they’re almost as expensive as the hamburgers now.
The shrinkflation has killed my appetite for fast food more than the quality. Even standby Taco Bell’s items are 3x what they were 3-4 years ago and are TINY now.
Agreed on Your list !!!
Dairy Queen, YES !!!
closing 140 restaurants in failing neighborhoods [we all know what THAT means] and opening 250 to 300 new outlets in strategic markets [we know what THAT means too], so i see nothing but excellent management decisions here ...
