The Constitutional Court in the European Union (EU) and NATO member state Romania has canceled its presidential elections just days before a scheduled vote, claiming a Russian interference campaign is the reason a pro-Trump candidate populist was the favorite to win the race.Romanian judges annulled the second round of the presidential elections as polls suggested populist, NATO-critical candidate Călin Georgescu, who won a surprise victory in the election’s first round, was likely to win Sunday’s vote. According to the court, Georgescu benefits from an influence campaign on social media platforms like TikTok, similar to some run by the Russian government.

NATO will not tolerate “aggressive neutrality” anywhere in the world!
I was looking for a piece about this Western coup in the “mainstream” press. My God! Such nauseating CIA written BS, I don’t even think Z could make it up. Expect the CIA FReeper cheerleaders to be out in full force on this one.
Forward comrades!
Sounds like it’s time for another Revolution in Romania, but I doubt it takes them 45 years to get to it, this time.
this is highly disturbing. foreign affairs prayer alert.
Sounding more and more like it’s time to overthrow some other folks in the European theater.
Letting the people vote without gov’t cheating is very dangerous to “our” Democracy....
Biden would have done the same had he been the candidate instead of Cameltoe.
A veneer of representative government. Europe is governed by a Central Committee.
In 1989 they deposed the marxists
Now they need to depose the Neo-marxists.
Looks like the Soviet Union is already taking over the EU and Russia may have to save them.
So...
Let me get this straight...
The Romanian election was canceled because...
The ‘pro Trump’ candidate was leading...
But only because Russia interfered to get him elected?
IOW...
Russia wanted the pro-Trump candidate to win?
That would mean that Russia is in favor of Trump’s win in the U.S. and favors other Trump-like presidents elsewhere...
Meanwhile, Putin and Russia are leery of the Trump presidency and want Trump to stay out of the Ukrainian war and do not want Trump to make Russia’s oil-dependent economy to falter.
Something doesn’t compute...
Somebody wanted o spin the goings on in Europe to mean something different. “Hard spunned” sounds about right.
Putin and Russia are pro-Trump?
What evidence do you have that the CIA was involved in this?
L
Nothing says Democracy more than cancelling an election when the preferred candidate isn’t going to win.
In Ukraine, Zelensky just outlawed all opposition parties and cancelled the election, all in the name of democracy.
“What evidence do you have that the CIA was involved in this?”
Given the track record of the CIA and other Western-Controlled operations, like NGOs, it’s really up to the CIA to prove that they were NOT involved in overturning the Romanian election.
“ it’s really up to the CIA to prove that they were NOT involved in overturning the Romanian election.”
It’s not possible to prove a negative, Skippy.

“It’s not possible to prove a negative, Skippy.”
It’s also not possible that the CIA and/or other Western ops had nothing to do with overturning the election in Romania.
Therefore, nothing new in Romania - the Neocons didn’t like the vote of the people there - so they are trying reverse it.
“ It’s also not possible that the CIA and/or other Western ops had nothing to do with overturning the election in Romania.”
What evidence do you have to support your assertion?
L
“claiming a Russian interference campaign”
Uh-oh. Sounds like a conspiracy theory.
“What evidence do you have to support your assertion?”
Ukraine 2014; Georgia, 2024, and probably 50 other countries. No way I’m going to give the Neocons a free pass on this one.
