President Joe Biden toured the National Museum of Slavery in Angola’s capital of Luanda on Tuesday, delivering a speech in which he described slavery as America’s “original sin” and claiming it still taints American public discourse.
“The United States is founded on an idea, one embedded in our Declaration of Independence, that all men and women are created equal. It is abundantly clear today we have not lived up to that idea, but we have not fully walked away from it either,” Biden said.

I guess he does not want to offend the Middle East and elsewhere where slavery was practiced long before America was discovered and settled and where it continues to even this day.

He should give a full pardon retroactive for the United States. I think he can do that.

Seriously? Is now biden afraid of being erased from history by his eraser wokeys?

I am truly sickened by anyone on this thread who was alive during slavery and owned slaves.
I can’t abide it.

every nation and people in history had slaves until that point in time!
What is this moron lamenting?

But slavery is America’s original sin.
When the United States was founded, slavery was legal everywhere in the world. The first country to ban slavery was Haiti in 1804.
To: Wuli
Luanda, the present day capital of Angola, was major slavery hub.
It was a Portuguese colony.
Locals sold their fellow countrymen to slavery.
Portuguese boats ship them to Brazil.
I do not believe, Americans were involved in Angola’s slave trade at all? (Correct me if you know otherwise)

If anything, Europeans were the most merciful. The others didn’t have survivors or descendants to complain.
