Britain and France have not ruled out sending troops to Ukraine as part of a European coalition, French media has reported, amid fears that the war is edging closer to becoming an all-out conflict between Russia and NATO.

Discussions on sending troops from Western armies and private defence companies have been 'reactivated', according to French daily newspaper Le Monde, months after President Macron faced opposition from Western leaders over the suggestion.

The talks have also been revisited amid concerns that US support for Kyiv could be pulled by president-elect Donald Trump when he enters office on January 20, sources reportedly claimed.

Honestly, at this point, I’m banking on some Euroweenies getting nuked before we do. That way we might be forced to negotiate before something really serious happens.

They aren’t going to send one boot into Ukraine.

"Britain and France have not ruled out sending troops to Ukraine as part of a European coalition"

That does not obligate the US under Article V.

Lol! I dunno about France but the Sinaloa cartel has more men in it’s criminal organization than the UK has manpower in its entire military complex.

One nuke-tipped missile going off in Europe means thousands will follow in minutes and it’s the end of the world as we know it.

Maybe the Limeys & Frogs will land troops in Crimea - it worked before, right?

That’s right. Problem is, we will end up giving them handouts for them to get their asses handed to them.

Exactly right. They won’t deploy any troops because when Trump halts the Ukraine spend-a-thon those two countries would have to pay for it with their own tax money.

Ah, the power they've shown. "Not ruling out" also includes the quiet "not ruling in."

It would be most interesting if one of the big, bold European pro-war governments would send their troops IN UNIFORM to the front, making them obviously allied with the Zelensky martial law government of the moment.

How about Macron? Scholz? Starmer? Tusk? Haven't seen any troop movements as yet. Not even some sort of Rutte-commanded NATO contingent.

This form of modern brinkmanship is to talk and hold meetings and release statements and -- "rule nothing in." Quite Monty Python, after all.....

Wonder if they could agree on when their next emergency summit is?

Given how Britain views its dominions, they probably intend to send Canadian military.

This is how you get Chinese troops to appear in the open fighting for Russia.

I sincerely doubt it. Can’t imagine either country’s citizens are gung ho for that idea, even if their politicians may be.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Great. Europe should pay and die if that’s what they want.

It’s their backyard.

For "thousands" to follow the use of a single tactical nuke in the Russia/Ukraine war zone, someone will have to make the decision to escalate. Just wondering who you think that might be? Starmer, Macron, or our very own "Joe from Scranton"? I can't picture either of the Euro-Weenies making that commitment, no matter how loud they shout "Rule Britannia!" or "Viva la France!" I guess there's always Joe, if someone promises him some ice cream after he gives the order...

Which is why Russia will not use them and should stop threatening to use them.
