The inspector generals for the Central Intelligence Agency and Office of the Director of National Intelligence resigned from their oversight roles after former President Donald Trump's re-election victory.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s Thomas Monheim and the CIA's Robin Ashton are the two IGs who resigned.

Monheim and Ashton were nominated by President Biden in 2021 and confirmed by the Senate.

“After more than 38 years of public service, I am retiring from the federal government at the end of this year. It has been the pinnacle of my rewarding career to serve alongside the dedicated officers at CIA for the last three and a half years as the CIA Inspector General,” Ashton said in a statement provided through a CIA spokesperson, according to a report from the Project On Government Oversight (POGO). “I have every confidence that the exceptional work of the Office of the Inspector General will continue to have positive impact on behalf of the American people.”

Interesting. Inspector Generals of two pretty major agencies; CIA and DNI. Could it be those "watch-dogs" have been part of the continuing cover-up of corruption by the left rather than doing the job of oversight of those two agencies?

Are they "getting out of Dodge" before they can be questioned about their actions, or lack thereof?

Bingo. Maybe they need to lawyer up.

They resigned because they know they are guilty of serious and deliberate dereliction of duty. The first task of the new directors should be to investigate them for collusion to suppress wrongdoings by the CIA and ODNI.

Covering up the mistakes from the Pennsylvania assination attempt and knowing it won’t be blown off by a democratic congress and POTUS might have been part of the decision.

I believe that there was a pattern by the Biden Administration (and important government agencies like the FBI, USSS, etc.) to create the conditions for some nutjob out there to get at President Trump and end him.

So many rats scurrying away... I suspect that many of them will actually leave the country, seeking to be beyond subpoena power of U.S. courts.

As a student of history, I’m reminded of the period of restoration of Charles II when so many of the Stuarts’ enemies from the Cromwell period were fleeing from England in utter panic... for good reason.

subpoenas and US Marshalls for these POS. a no knock raid at 4 in the morning, followed by a trip to Guantanamo for a quick enhanced interview. How much money was siphoned off Ukrainian aid would be my first question.

That won’t get them out of being arrested and going to prison.

At 38 years she will get 41.8% of her yearly salary as a pension. Probably about $72,000 in that range.
