Big Pharma Stocks Crumble After Trump Taps RFK Jr. as HHS Boss
Headline USA ^ | November 14, 2024 | Luis Cornelio

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services has sent shockwaves through vaccine company stocks.

BioNTech and Novavax saw their stocks drop by 7.1% and 7.0%, respectively, while Moderna’s fell by 5.6% shortly after Trump’s announcement on Thursday, according to Axios. CNBC noted that Pfizer’s stocks dropped more than 2 percent.

These companies made billions after manufacturing the COVID-19 vaccines, which several governments, including the U.S., forced Americans to take.

Trump’s appointment of RFK Jr. to HHS seems part of the former independent presidential candidate’s efforts to “Make America Healthy Again,” echoing Trump’s signature “Make America Great Again” slogan.

“Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Mirroring Trump’s comments, RFK Jr. posted on X: “Together we will clean up corruption, stop the revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science.”

RFK Jr. added, “I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all the data so they can make informed choices for themselves and their families.”

Good. Big pharma does have some value, but they need to be reigned in. Apparently, executives at big pharma are as honorable as Dr. Fauci.

Gosh that’s too bad. They made so much off of Covid alone I’m sure they’ll survive.

I seriously don’t know when I’ve ever been happier.

I’ve been saying for years that we have built a broken world. So many things are just wrong. So many things are rotten. I feel like a great many of these things are about to be fixed. It will be a whole new world.

Transparency is a good thing.

One thing that needs to be done is make it a conflict of interest to have any stock, assets rights or patent royalties held by you or your family if you are a member of FDA, NIH, or NIAID. It’s amazing to me that these government employees were allowed to sponsor R/D, etc. and hold assets rights in them. No other government employee is allowed to do that! How did they end up so “special”?

Remember, they work for the stockholders, not you.

Stockholders: Make us wealthier or you are fired!

CEOs: By any means necessary, Boss!.................

That and the “revolving door” need to be stopped.

On the other hand, some regulatory reform that benefits pharma should be part of the reform. Presently, drug patents are like any other, and are valid for 20 years. Given the time required for testing and approval, pharma companies are incentivized to cut corners to get to market soonest, as they only have the time from approval til the patent expiration date to earn back the development cost.

Maybe drug patents should be treated differently to remove the inventive to rush drugs to market as fast as possible for financial reasons.

Here’s to hoping we can shrink the size of BIG everything and add competition back in.

I’ve got a choice of three different grocery stores but when it comes to meat, I only need to look at one ad because every week, they all have the exact same cuts on sale.

That phenomena has to be caused by their common source being one or two Big processors.

Hopefully the Massie as Sec of Ag rumors are true.

I’m surrounded by cattle farms but the stores can only sell beef from the likes of Cargill.

I just got 4 covid test kits FREE NEW from my government. I have trouble believing these kits are no good after 6 months. Wonder how much Biden paid for this batch.

A huge change is needed to prevent “Evergreening.”

Big Pharma will have a patent to a particular drug, get a patent on it. When that patent is about to expire, they make a very minor change to the formula and get a new patent in order to maintain confiscatory pricing.

Let me give you an example. I have metastatic prostate cancer. The prostate cancer drug Lupron had been around for many years. It’s about $3,000 per injection every three months. The company changed the formula is a veryinor way that had nothing to do with the effectiveness. As a result, the Pharma company got another 15 years as a patented drug.

Another example is the drug Xtandi, which I currently take. A Canadian pharma company offered to sell it into the U.S. for $3.00 per capsule. Theist often recommended dose is four capsules per day, or $480/month. The retail price in the U.S. is about $6,000/month. A few years ago, there was legislation in Congress that would permit the importation of drugs from reliable companies in reliable countries. It was rejected by a narrow margin.

There is a relatively new prostate cancer drug developed in Germany call Lu-177. It’s for patients with no other options. A Big Pharma company inthe U.S. bought the rights for distribution in the U.S. The American Pharma company had zero costs for development, yet conducted unneeded clinical trials in the U.S. before marketing it at outrageous prices.

I’m sure RFK,Jr. is going to put and end to these corrupt practices.

The above are just a few examples of why Big Pharma stock prices are going to take a huge hit.

There is also a system where third party company act as a go-between for Big Pharma, insurance companies and retail pharmacy companies. It involves a complex system of subsidies an rebates ate the expense of retail customers.

Thrn there is the high cost for diabetes medication. It’s a huge scam. Few people know that the two scientists who discovered the first diabetes drug just gave away the rights to their drug as a public service.
