To the delight of Normal People everywhere, MSNBC anchor Joy Reid deleted her Xwitter account Wednesday.
The good news is that she released a TikTok video explaining her decision, and it’s quite the snit.
Reid, who should have quit her hairstyle before quitting Xwitter, explained that she decided to give up her account with 1.9 million followers because “it was just not worth it.” She added that after Elon Musk bought the site, she stopped posting on Xwitter but still used it to get the latest news.
But “in order to do the news aggregation and just look at all, you have to wade through a lot of dreck and a lot of, just, abuse, and a lot of just, negativity,” she said. “And it’s just not worth it.”

Once upon a time, communists controlled Twitter and they banned and censored anyone who wasn’t a communist. As a result, Twitter was a sea of government propaganda.
Musk bought it, renamed it X and said everyone is welcome. X became a sea of Truth and free exchange of information and opinion. Now all the communists are banning themselves. Because that’s what communists do. It will not harm the platform.
But note — in a year or so the communists may start pretending that Musk is censoring communists on X because, you know, you don’t see a whole lot of communist activity on X anymore. Must be Elon’s fault, eh?
Joy Reid doesn’t like negativity. Any more irony than that and you could stick refrigerator magnets to her.
