We wanted to let readers know that we will no longer post on any official Guardian editorial accounts on the social media site X (formerly Twitter). We think that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere. This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism. The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.

The Grauniad haz The Madz.
How, again HOW did we get the richest man on the planet to be on our side!!??
Or perhaps he always was but like Trump in his younger years, kept it close to his vest.
Twitter (X) was HUGE this time around.
Those rumors about wals and teen boys were never taken down and got so many views. Good :)
And it’s so liberating to say whatever I want on X without any fear of it being deleted.
I’m not dumb enough to use violent rhetoric like the left...I’m in control of what I say.
But boy do cuss words fly sometimes!! And I’m still a member.
I dont know how a conservative gets thrown off of X if I haven’t :)
Temper tantrum.
One can also not "support" the Guardian for zero, zip, nada -- £0 / $0.
Call me crazy but I would thought publishing your opinions on a site where the majority do not share them would be a smart thing to do.
If you only publish within your bubble you do not have a chance to expose others of different point of few.
Their loss, not X.
Elon use to be a hero of the Left. He was featured on Rick and Morty, a very popular cartoon series that leans left.
Ironic that the Guarding posted their message on “X”
Note to the Guardian: No one gives a S#!t.
They’re Brits.
They don’t have their own 1st amendment and they don’t understand ours.
Let them have that tyrant Starmer. They’ll come back begging.
“How, again HOW did we get the richest man on the planet to be on our side!!??”
1. Babylon Bee names Rachel Levine (or someone like him) as Man of the Year, and then gets banned by Twitter.
2. Musk is friends with the guy running Babylon Bee, so he calls him up and confirms the story.
3. Musk says, F-— that, I’ll buy Twitter.
4. Musk buys Twitter and becomes totally unwoke.
This Guardian action is called ‘cutting off your nose to spite your face’.
Great business plan for a supposedly none bias news enterprise. Interesting that you do this action because you think Elon cannot be fair even though anyone can post on X. But somehow you feel that Elon would just be bias…. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 is that’s because your paper acts and reacts in a bias manner, so you just assume everyone acts like the Guardian?
could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere - They haven’t used journalism for years so they should stop promoting what they don’t have.
“HOW did we get the richest man on the planet to be on our side!!??”
And the smartest.
What’s the Guardian?
I saw a video where they were speculating that there was an Electric Vehicle summit being held by Biden and Musk was not invited, as Biden instead invited executives from GM . Supposedly Biden did not want to hurt United Auto Workers feelings either , Tesla is non UAW .
This was a couple of years ago and Musk has not forgotten.
Apparently Musk had tried to approach the Biden Admin , instead Biden kept snubbing Musk .The EV Summit was the final straw. Musk figured out that the chumps weren’t interested in his help and he moved towards Trump.
It turns out that Trump and Musk hit it off , something that Biden failed to do.
“The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.”
The Guardian didn’t seem to care about that before Elon took over.

No free speech for you!
This sounds like the “old”, chained Press engaging in battle with the “new”.
The New Press of Social Media is increasingly Free, thanks thanks to Musk.
It is a good test of ideologies.
