A United States Post Office clerk went into work the day after the 2024 presidential election wearing Trump attire and was asked to change clothes.
Michelle Albert, 57, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, says she felt “violated and embarrassed” soon after beginning her shift at the distribution center in Warrendale.
“It’s the day after he won,” she says. “You should be able to wear what you want.
Michelle began her workday like any other. “At 3:00 PM, I clocked in and I was staying there waiting for our pre-sort,” she recalls.
“My MDO [manager, distribution operations] walked up to me. She came charging out of the office and she came right up to me and pointed at me. And she said, ‘You can’t wear that here.’ I said, ‘Why can’t I? The election is over. Trump won.’”

Because whoever the sitting president is, that’s their boss.
You’ll find the picture of the current president in every government department/agency.
I think Presidents only go on stamps long after their terms.
Therefore, she was wearing a picture of her boss.
Discrimination. The election is over. That woman can’t tell her what she can or can not wear.
If the Pennsylvania post office clerk was wearing pro-lemming gear he would got a raise and a office.
He’s not, yet.
Is there a picture of Harris hanging in the Office? VPs photos normally are not included in the “chain of command”, but I’d be surprised if her photo wasn’t plastered on government office walls after she became the nominee.
I guess this doesn’t bother me if it is a general rule, enforced across the spectrum. I’d prefer to go into a govt office and find them wearing business attire.
The Hatch act has been re-clarified several times; I don’t know what the guidance is on an election that is over. But I still find it improper to show one’s political preference - whatever it is - while working as a civil servant.
I think we should go back to the days where people never discussed politics or religion in any workplace. It’s just asking for trouble and hard feelings among people.
Yeah. And if she’d have won, yesterday would have been changed from Veterans day to World’s First Woman of Color U.S. President’s Day and everyone at the damn PO Would have been wearing the shirts with her mug on them.
They wouldn’t put her picture there until she was inaugurated.
Only after they are dead. No living person, president or otherwise, can appear on US Postage stamps.
I worked as an Air Force contractor during 2020 and the message we got was that electioneering on Government property or using government resources was not allowed. I do not recall any instances of anyone bringing up politics. Our shop was about half service members, half civilians, the civilians being 50-50 civil servants and contractors. My guess, and it’s only a guess, is that the place was 60-70% Democrat. Like I said no electioneering at work or on government property.
At MIT/LL were I was in 2024, they sent out a polite email asking people to show respect. MIT/LL is located about half on MIT property and half on Air Force property, not counting satellite offices on military locations. Again, no signs of electioneering. Probably about 80% Democrat would be my guess.
“ Just wear a plain red shirt.”

Like Dr. Jill Biden.
I don’t think they would do it whether they wanted to or felt they should or not. There’s protocol attached to all of that, and people in charge of it.
:: The election was over. ::
Actually, they were still counting in PA.
Counting the Mail-in ballots.
You have more faith in government employees than I do as I worked with them for over 25 years. Just look for a recent posting about FEMA employees skipping houses with Trump signs.
So they shouldn’t do it, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t as the left does not care about the regulations.
“Just wear a plain red shirt.“
Or a red cap with “made you look” in white…
Well, I’ll wait to be outraged when we hear that it’s actually been done somewhere.
I think we would have heard if there were any picture other than Biden’s in a US post office.
A stamp for The Beatles was issued..it had a pic of the Yellow Submarine, so they got
around that.
Postal unions big on liberals but at the
sorting facility where I work I see some
Trump bumper stickers on cars. There’s
some kind of Hatch Act restrictions
against candidate t shirts in the bldg. Etc.
Current postmaster general is a Trump
appointee, Louis DeJoy.
