Americans elected Trump. They might not like what comes next.
Washington Post via MSN ^ | Nov 11, 2024 | Aaron Blake

Donald Trump has been president before. But all indications are that we should expect an even bolder Trump — or more extreme, depending on your point of view — in a second term.

Gone will be the many establishment-oriented administration officials who served as checks on him and have since criticized him. Republicans will most likely control both chambers of Congress, with GOP contingents more Trump-y than before. The Supreme Court recently gave presidents a substantial degree of criminal immunity, which will insulate a president who has been convicted of felonies and charged with others. And Trump as a term-limited president will no longer be burdened with reelection concerns.

All of this raises a pressing question: Just how far will he go?

Trump was not exactly sheepish about previewing some far-reaching and controversial policies even as he was appealing for votes. The question becomes whether he will actually pursue them, and how they might play with the American public.

With that in mind, I thought it a good opportunity to look at how some of the big ones might play.

Mass deportation

Jan. 6 pardons

Firing civil servants

Tariffs

Reducing Ukraine aid

Prosecuting political rivals

Targeting vaccines

Of course all the Harris voters are not going to like Trump doing what he said. But to Trump Supporters we call this "winning".

I will admit I wish Trump would stive for a balanced budget, but that's not him. And neither would Harris.

CA “Air Resources Board” just voted to increase gas prices. Nobody is going to blame the state, people will associate this with Trump unless the narrative is properly communicated.

Communication is everything - nationally as well.

Prayers.

Good old Washington Post. Trying to make me even happier about the election than I already am.

Americans will be fine with what Trump does. They hired him to do it.

the good old reliable hard-leftist WashedUpPost

spewing forth its all-too-predictable anti=American/ pro=commie propaganda and distortions and slanted prognostications again

the NYSlimes at least has pretty good crossword puzzles. The WUP’s only redeeming feature is for fireplace kindling.

I see they’re(WP) still stomping their feet. Must be a terrible struggle knowing the WP wasn’t allowed to endorse Harris.

Not in four years, but if the plan to dramatically reduce the size of government succeeds, we stop foreign wars, produce enough global prosperity that the US dollar remains secure as the reserve currency, and we have a smart SecTreas, he will certainly set the stage for debt reduction and a balanced (and smaller) federal budget.

That list is why we voted for President Trump. Why would we have a problem with it? Dummies.

This is what I am worried about. I have seen this mentioned a few times now in one form or another. I think a number of people will be out to get him. They do not want to be exposed, such as the Epstein list and other documents he is going to make public.

“Mr. Trump would be advised to stay out of airplanes until inauguration day and to be extra-careful who he puts himself around, especially in public.”

LOL! Imagine some retard at the Washington Post thinks that people who voted for Trump aren't going to like mass deportations of crimmigrants, mass firings of Obamunist swamp creatures, and pardoning the J6 political prisoners...

We really don't hate these people enough.

Ooh boooy. You’re going to have a long four years if you’re hoping Trump has a struggle. You think it will be four years of him trying to get above any vindictive little thing these idiots pull in this lame duck session

Buckle up. It’s going to get back to the constitution fast and turbulently

It’ll be like Dorothy inside the cyclone then landing on the wicked sister of the western witch.
