Civil War Is Breaking Out in the Democratic Party
PJ Media ^ | 9 Nov, 2024 | Matt Margolis

The Democratic Party is in a state of self-destruction. That’s no exaggeration. Party leaders aren’t just reeling from Donald Trump’s stunning victory earlier this week—they’re turning on each other, casting blame in a way that signals a deepening internal divide. With accusations flying and no clear direction forward, it’s clear that an intraparty civil war may be brewing.

And frankly, I’m experiencing a bit of schadenfreude watching it unfold. Trust me, it's about to get really ugly.

Honestly, I don't think this is garden variety post-defeat introspection. For starters, there are Democrats who blame Kamala Harris for running a terrible campaign and for her poor choice of running mate.

"I would've liked to see the Harris campaign – especially the national campaign – coordinate with us a little bit. Talk to us a little bit. Give us a little bit more resources. Show us some respect. Didn't happen," Philadelphia Democratic chair and former congressman Bob Brady said.

“She let the GOP define her,” a senior Democratic operative told Time Magazine. “She could have left the convention and tried to reach out to voters from across the political spectrum, but she and [running mate Tim] Walz went inexplicably into hiding and didn’t do interviews for weeks.”

Some are convinced that picking Josh Shapiro would have helped.

"I know a lot of people are probably wondering tonight what would have happened had Shapiro been on the ticket," Lindy Li, a political commentator and Democratic National Committee member, told Fox News. "And not only in terms of Pennsylvania. He's famously a moderate. So that would have signaled to the American people that she is not the San Francisco liberal that Trump said she was."

And of course, Kamala's failure to distance herself from Joe Biden was another problem.

I do not believe that you will be disappointed. As Democrats, they are hard put not to voice their thoughts to the news media.

They let the GOP define her? She defined herself...and she lost.

Really simple Democrats.

Your habit of running by lying about being “moderates” did not work after seeming how radically Alt Left extremists you governed since 2021. You ran two of the most radically extremists Alt Left politicians in the US and spent billions lying to the US people about how “moderate” they were.

As expected, the US people did not buy it.

The Democrats are relatively weak and very divided.

Now would be a good time to push for election reform in all 50 states. Do the Democrats want to openly campaign against honest elections? Do they think that the old “black people are incapable of acquiring a photo ID” trope still works?

Election reform
Civil Service reform

We can have decades of good government.

Maybe they need to show America where Communism has ever been successful and actually liberated The People.

I'm expecting the progressive left in the democrat party to double-down to try taking the party harder to the left, claiming they've not "done enough" to win.

Read between the lines of what Bernie Sanders has been saying lately, that' exactly what he's been saying. Same for Fakeahontas Warren.

Harris did nothing wrong - she was simply being herself. She is not fit for the top job, that simple. The main problem the Democrats had was not driving out Biden a year earlier. By the time they did get around to it, there were only 2 options, Harris or Civil War. They probably made the better choice.

I rather like that DEI ‘educated’ Sonny Hostin on the View is denigrating uneducated white women and black men (for misogyny) for Democrats’ loss, yet you never hear the word misandry come out of her mouth.

Minnesota congressman Dean Phillips ran against Biden, gamely, but got no traction in New Hampshire, and dropped out. He was discouraged from challenging Biden by the party leadership.

Democrats have political ADHD and they are herding cats that all want to scratch their eyes out. Abortion, Trans, Migrant. All issues they tried to juggle while dodging Trump’s steel focus. Obama is a dreamer that wanted it all and ending up a big zero.

I’m happy that pecker puss Pelosi is taking the majority of the blame for Kamala’s loss. She has led the Democrats to several devastating defeats. That said, I hope they keep her around until she’s 100.
