Germany's ruling coalition has collapsed after Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed Finance Minister Christian Lindner just hours after Donald Trump's US election win.
The coalition collapsed due to disagreements over budget policy, with Lindner opposing tax hikes and debt increases.
Scholz plans a parliamentary confidence vote on January 15, potentially leading to a snap election by March 2025.
Germany’s conservative opposition leader Friedrich Merz said there's "absolutely no reason" to wait that long.
"There is absolutely no reason to wait until January of next year to ask for a vote of confidence," he said.
"The traffic light coalition no longer has a majority in the German Bundestag.
"And so we have to call on the Chancellor, with a joint resolution of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, to call a vote of confidence immediately, by the beginning of next week at the latest.".......

And the world realignment begins
I think we need to pull our troops out of Germany. No need to spend US tax dollars in that atheist, pedo-infected, bestiality-worshipping nation.
I want to see a fist fight in the Bundestag.
Wow....Unbelievable

BERLIN, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Germany’s coalition collapsed on Wednesday as Chancellor Olaf Scholz fired his finance minister and paved the way for a snap election, triggering political chaos in Europe’s largest economy hours after Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election.
After dismissing Finance Minister Christian Lindner of the Free Democrats (FDP) party, Scholz is expected to head a minority government with his Social Democrats and the Greens, the second-largest party.
Germany was having trouble
What a sad sad story
Needed a new leader
To restore it’s former glory
Where oh where was he
Where could that man be
We looked around
And then we found
The man for you and me
And now it’s.........
When I was in Germany after the wall fell and the Soviets collapsed, a German asked me why we were still here.
I told him to keep our boots on their goose-stepping necks.
He didn’t like that answer.
I want to say I did Nazi that coming, however, I did!
Screw Germany, good and hard.
I did a Search, it didnt come up.

Yep. NATO was necessary the year it was formed, 1949. Europe was in ruins, and the Red Army was a fearsome fighting machine.
Well, it’s not 1949 anymore. Europe can stand on its own. And the current Russian Army is just a shadow of the old Red Army.
So US troops out of Europe. They don’t need our babysitting any more.
…and Vlad says Checkmate. They should have re thought pouring everything into senile Joe’s Ukie war. Russia’s cheap energy and commodities was crucial for their manufacturing.
