Now that the dust has settled from Israel's Oct. 26 retaliatory strikes on Iran, Jerusalem's road to victory is finally taking shape. And despite the difficulties, the Israel Defense Forces is more determined than ever to restore peace to the citizens of the Jewish state.
On today’s episode, JNS senior contributing editor Ruthie Blum and Mark Regev, former Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom—both former advisers at the Prime Minister's Office—discuss all the latest developments in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon and where they think things may be heading.

Whoever said they were a tiger at all?!
I can see that being said about Russia before the Ukraine mess (mot taking a side, just noting the obvious).
I thought it would take Russia 2 months. If it took us longer than 2 months to take Ukraine i’d be completely shocked (at the same time, under the same circumstances)
But Iran has always just been a loudmouth.
Their nukes are a BIG issue though. Wish Israel would have taken those facilities out...but since I don’t have a clue how hard or easy that is...I’ll shut up :)
the good Iranian people need to take control of their country back (successfully, reports are that they’ve tried a couple times but USA CIA interference blocked them)
All along, knowing the bulk of the Iranian people are against them, the Mullahs have attempted to conduct their war against the U.S. (Beirut, 1983) and Israel by setting up, building up and using proxies. The next Israeli targets should be the internal domestic police command and control centers as well as the domestic police barracks. Give the Iranian people some ability to come out from under their dictators.
Israel has severely degraded Hezbollah, nearly completely destroyed Hamas and has struck Iran with humiliating impunity. Yet if the mullah regime continues to exist eventually the threat to Israel will again be severe. Research, innovations and advances are making missiles and drones more stealthy and more lethal. Eventually the mullahs given Iran’s oil wealth will one day obtain these weapon systems and they and their surrogates will again attack Israel. Israel must maintain its technological and intelligence advantages. However for strategic reasons it must put an end to the mullah regime. It cannot depend on the US as its final protection.
.
US foreign policy is steered by the State Department, which was opposed to Truman recognizing Israel, and was opposed to Reagan telling Gorby to tear down some long-forgotten wall. They don’t like change. Their instinct is to resist change and to preserve the status quo, even if it is a terrible status quo. So they like the Mullahs, the same way a baby likes his dirty diaper. It’s warm. It’s comforting and familiar. On the other hand, in 1978, the status quo was the Pahlavi Shah, and they didn’t much care about helping him out. That sure ended well—NOT! On the other hand, that was shortly after the Church Committee de-clawed the CIA, so they didn’t have the wherewithal to fight that change. Now they’re back in the driver’s seat, having been politicized once again by the Obama Admin, and empowered by their old pals the Bushes.
Since the Bushies the CIA has suffered one failure after another. Paper tiger? That’s the CIA.
Assuming they don’t view these “failures” as the desired result. They’ve been politicized, but politicized to the Left, which is why the Left is hiring them, quoting them, and best buds with them.
