The Israeli strikes on Iran hit several of Tehran’s most advanced air defenses, exposing Iran’s vulnerability to future attacks as the two enemies engage in a new era of direct confrontation.
During the hourslong attack early Saturday, Israeli warplanes struck Iranian military assets in three provinces, including three Russian-supplied aerial defense systems known as S-300, according to U.S. and Israeli officials. A fourth aerial defense system was also hit. An Israeli official added that all the air-defense systems were rendered unusable.

As we've seen in Ukraine, RuZZian AD systems are very poor.
I’ve been told by folks that used to work on fighters, that some Israeli stuff is so good, countries by it for their planes as long as they take off, Made In Israel, and the deal is brokered thru folks that have the right last name.
Israel was probably hitting those sites miles before Iran realized those planes were in the sky.
yes, iran is completely exposed now. If they attack Israel again the next strike will be much easier as the air defenses are almost completely eviscerated.
Also took out the drone and rocket factories so we should eventually see a reduction in attacks as the houthis, hez ana hamas will be unable to restock.
I disagree, they’re not necessarily poor per se. Ask our guys that have flown against Russian systems owned by India.
What *is* the real problem for their AD systems in general and their export models (which would be the ones sold to and cloned by Iran) in specific is the training and doctrine of their crews, which is a *real* problem. Russian AD gear is (when it’s been evaluated by third parties) inherently at least solid hardware with not so great user interfaces and steep learning curves.
Note that the Israelis themselves have historically noted that the Iranians often have at least half-decent hardware but their personnel suck at using it. If the Iranian hardware didn’t work, Israel would not be having a problem with them and their proxies in Lebanon and Gaza.
Thanks SpeedyInTexas.
“...training and docterine of their crews,,,”
We have DEI, so we got that going for us.
Which is part of why *we* are seeing a dropoff in performance as well.
I think there was never a question in terms of a direct confrontation - Iranian direct warfare weaponry dates from the 70s and early 80s.
Iran used its proxies as that was the only way it could stand up to, forget about Israel, but against Pakistan or Turkey.
They may not have even enter Iranian airspace.
That’s even better
