The Washington Post's non-endorsement of Donald Trump or Kamala Harris has kicked up controversy.
It comes after the LA Times made the same decision. Both papers are owned by billionaires.
The non-endorsements are being seen as political statements, whether or not that was the intent.
When is something a newspaper doesn't publish a news story?
In this case, that's right now. And it's actually two stories: The Washington Post won't be endorsing a presidential candidate this year. The move comes days after the Los Angeles Times made the same decision.
The obvious parallel between the two calls is that both newspapers are owned by very wealthy men. Patrick Soon-Shiong, who owns the Los Angeles Times, is worth a reported $6 billion; Jeff Bezos, who owns the Post, is worth a reported $194 billion, making him the third-richest person in the world.
And there are other similarities between the two non-decisions: The rationale behind the moves, for instance, is being communicated quite clumsily.
But the big picture is that whatever the true rationale behind the calls actually is — more on that in a moment — they are being interpreted by observers, including some on their own staff, as a desire to avoid angering Donald Trump, and/or a move to avoid angering readers.

I like the LA Times owner saying the board must do a comparison before there is an endorsement. That said, there is no doubt the board would be all in for the Kammie.
Wealthy people own newspaper outlets?
Who would have thought?
I thought it was guys who worked at fast food places.
What a stupidly obvious statement.
And yes, no matter what they did to try and look “unbiased”, they would be biased.
Extremely biased
I’m surprised and maybe confused that Bezos didn’t endorse the hag. He seems all in for the deep state. I wonder if they’re really going to let Trump win and then unleash the poop storm.
This from the far-left rag, Business Insider.
They’re angst is sweet sweet nectar
What a slap in the face!
“The Union” was also mentioned as a non-endorser of Commie-La.
Which source that is, I’m not sure, as I’ve never heard of it.
Several non-endorsing unions were mentioned at FOX.

Could it have been Kalamity’s attacks on billionaires “to pay their fair share?
One other similarity is that each paper is losing a crap-ton of money each year. One might look at the Washington Post as a money losing hobby of the world’s 2nd or 3rd richest man. You could also look at its general editorial stance as being an in-kind contribution to the Democratic Party.
Bezos hasn't got a meeting with India's Modi or any cabinet ministers for the last few years because of the reporting of the WP. The refrain from Bezos is that he has no influence, clearly not true from this incident. Must be worried that Trump might pick up on that idea and who knows, really make it difficult for Bezos. Plenty of ways to do that & Trump no longer has to think about reelection (assuming he wins this one)
He might not like the notion of taxing unrealized gains.
That’s my thought.
The only conclusion you can draw......Harris is even worse than what
we’ve been led to believe....... Even her own allies wont endorse her.

She's a three-fer: Black, female, aristocratic Red Diaper Baby.
They can't say anything nice about her because of her profound stupidity, lack of industry, and incompetence.
So this is the best they can do.
since X/Twitter is the biggest disseminator of news a move to more balanced news presentation might be indicated. the revenue stream for papers is drying up.
What this clearly demonstrates is that the LA Times and the Post are so intrinsicly associated with the left-wing religion that people actually lose it when they don’t act in the lock-step ideological manner demanded. This outrage is evidence that these entities do not exist as honest brokers of information or to simply transmit news and facts, rather, their very existence is to advance the liberal orthodoxy, and this outrage proves that. People are simply upset in their belief that their ideology has been betrayed. Facts, reason, and debate of ideas holds no intrinsic value, it is orthodoxy above all else. And that is why people are really upset.
Imagine the horror of being uninvited from all the global left cocktail parties. No Davos, no Georgetown, no Martha’s Vineyard. What’s the 3rd richest guy in the world to do for some fun?
