People working in Washington, DC, are spending a lot of money on lunches as inflation continues to batter Americans in the Biden-Harris (D) administration’s economy.

A recent study found that employees in the nation’s capital are spending $350 on work lunches per month, Fox 5 reported on Thursday:

The information is found in ezCater’s 2024 Lunch Report. “Washingtonians spend $350 on work lunches per month, including lunch from restaurants and groceries for making lunch,” it states.

The study also noted that “79% of Washingtonians’ lunch habits are affected by inflation, with 35% opting for cheaper lunch options and 39% buying lunch less frequently.”

$17.50 a day based on 20 “work” days. Which I doubt they do a 20 day month.

Move the capitol to Montana. Fire half the workers.

Indeed it is. Just look at the level of affluence and cushy lifestyles in the DC suburbs that your tax dollars are paying for. Of course those people don’t want any changes to the system that serves them so well.

RE: This must be why they’re so fat.

Could be the Deep State elites want to keep control that way.

Caesar: “Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men,
and such as sleep a-nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look.”
Julius Caesar, Act.1, Scene 2. William Shakespeare.

Analysis:
Caesar is expressing his preference for loyal, content followers who appear physically comfortable and not overly ambitious, contrasting them with Cassius, whom he describes as having a “lean and hungry look” and being potentially dangerous due to his excessive thinking.

i get your point. But the scoundrels we vote for would never allow that. They love the power, lifestyle, and perks of being in the epicenter of national politics. Most of them would never vote to allow agencies to be re-located. Graft and corruption are so much easier when things are close by don’t you know.

That is not that much.

About $20 a day.

Now granted that is a lot for us now but back when I was a happy little cog in the mega-corp machine and allowing for inflation, I could see doing that.

Now days we have to tuition bills to pay. Different times, different priorities.

They could dumpster dive and maybe find carburetors to eat.

For the damage they do regularly, I’d hope that it cost them a helluva a lot more money than that.

Exactly this, $20 is what it costs now.
But I’ll only eat lunch if I’m working Saturdays, I regularly eat once a day after I get off work at 2:30 pm

At least they are not drinking $9 beers and $13 cocktails on their lunches. Washington is stupid expensive these day

Unless they are spreading the cost of the 20% of federal workers who actually show up in the orifice over all the workers who are “employed”.

At least they’re coming in to the office. I actually wouldn’t mind going back to the office, but here in Florida, not in the Communist-ruled DC area like before.

For effort and talent, they are the most overpaid “workers” in America.
