Anew report has found that even with inflation cooling, Americans are still struggling to make ends meet with higher prices making it hard for most to pay their bills.

The report from LendingTree highlights that 76% of Americans report inflation and the current economy making it harder for them to afford paying their bills this last year.

On top of that, 45% of those struggling said they have had to pay a bill late in the last 12 months, and 29% said they’ve done so in the last six months. Another 48% said they’ve paid three or more bills late in the last year.

Of course not everyone, but this is so wide spread because far too many bought toys they really didn’t need. They can’t pay their power bill because they are paying for those toys they just can’t live without as a priority. I see it even with a couple of my own kids. They make really good money but with all the toys they are living pay check to pay check and have to scramble for extra hours at work when the power bill comes in.

Under Trump I made more money than I ever made in my life, and I drive a truck for a living, nothing special. There was so much work I was going nuts trying to keep up.

I was able to buy a new car, no credit card debt. Now I’m in credit card debt and I’m making phone calls every day for work.

I deliver farm goods, plants, perrenials all up and down the upper east coast, New York, Conneticut, Mass, New Jersey, Penn, Rhode Island, New Hampshire.

Usually the season went from April to September. This past August it slowed down dramatically and pretty much went dead. Under Trump I was delivering till the end of December, it was crazy.

But then this putz came along named Biden who deliberately raised the price of fuel which raised the cost of everything else.

And remember folks: Kamaliar was asked the other day “Would you do anything different from Biden” and she said “I don’t think so”

So she was perfectly OK with our 13 veterans being killed in Afghanistan and perfectly OK with destroying the economy. And lunatics want to put this IDIOT in the Oval office.

And Kamala said she wouldn’t change anything.

Biden:

Only 75%?

C’mon, Man! We can do better! Let’s get that up to 100%! No Joke!...............

And those who aren’t having trouble paying their bills are seeing their life’s savings shrink...

It is crazy. It seems you can’t buy anything without breaking a ten or twenty dollar bill.

I have made enough money under Trump, that it carried me over Biden’s time.

FRiends, make sure to get your credit cards paid early. Cards have a bad habit of intentionally entering your payments late during the holidays. Evil.

I was going to suggest that it’s possible people are “struggling with bills” not because of inflation, particularly, but because of poor personal financial management. Inflation of the price of daily necessities hurts you a lot more if you’re already at your limited, including because of purchases of non-necessities.

No offense to anyone down on their luck, but most people live up to and beyond their means. If inflation is up and your wages aren’t, maybe you don’t need the iPhone 19 or whatever the latest one is. Make a budget. Be responsible for once.

Biden and covid may have caused all this but you can’t expect Trump to instantly correct inflation anymore than you can expect FEMA to give you your Kamala-money.

Up over 50% for us in both auto and home owners. Auto also had to do with adding a person to our insurance.

I have one toy. My Challenger. It’s already paid for.

When wonder bread goes from 99 cents to 2.99, eggs go from 11 cents to 37 cents, you need a personal loan to get a decent steak.....

You need to be paying off big ticket items to be short of cash.

Wife and I live comfortably...but the vacations have been sliced and diced some times in the past several years.

And if they ever ban electric, they’ll have to pull my cold, dead hands off of my Challenger steering wheel.

True. I’m surrounded by weekend rentals constantly full. They are NOT cheap. Then all the extra toys to rent for the weekend and clothes and food and drink, etc. People are still building and buying homes that are waaaay over priced (no thanks to the Californian invasion) and still buying big vehicles. It’s no wonder they can’t pay their bills and running up credit card balances. It’s all about MEEEEE!

I’ve been fortunate and blessed in my life and don’t have to worry about paying the bills.

But, long time employees suddenly borrow money (they desperately need) regularly. Some, every week.

I don’t normally loan money but in some cases, re long time employees I KNOW WELL, their wives and kids will suffer (like electricity turned off!) and there is just no way to say NO.

So, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that things are exceedingly tough out there for the average working person.

I hate the Biden marxists for spending billions over seas and billions on migrants and giving away trillions of printed dollars to buy votes that causes a working mans dollars to lose their value. The working man/woman is being defrauded by their own government on a collosal scale.

If you put money into a HYSA (i use cap 1) currently getting 4.1% APR (down from 4.35% APR), It might lose buying power if inflation exceeds 4% but it is still worth more than nothing as you argue.

I don't know what the situation is in your family but people have been spending excessively on recreation and entertainment for a long, long time. So that hasn't really changed.

What has changed are the costs of food, energy, and insurance. If not for inflation and the price escalation that has taken place, people would still be okay.

Fiscal mismanagement at the federal level has been more of a contributing factor than people's personal habits.
