Democrats are worried. This strategy could sink Kamala Harris. 'Her nomination may have been a tactical mistake'

The US presidential election is fast approaching, and the Democratic camp is growing worried. They fear that Kamala Harris is too invisible in this race and that the strategy she has chosen – avoiding spontaneous appearances and uncomfortable questions – may turn out to be the final nail in the coffin in her fight for the presidency. These fears are confirmed by the latest bookmaker polls – they show that the Republican is slowly gaining the lead. And some Democrats are starting to say that they made a mistake in choosing the candidate.

vice President Kamala Harris took over from President Joe Biden over the summer as the Democratic Party's nominee for the U.S. presidential election. But she has apparently taken a different strategy in the race.

Harris has been shy in interviews since the start of her campaign, refusing to attend press conferences and keeping impromptu appearances to a minimum. With less than a month to go until the election, the vice president is being cautious and strictly adheres to her schedule and speaking engagements.

This has many Democrats increasingly asking themselves: Is their candidate visible enough in the electoral fight? Many are starting to fear that nominating Harris may have been a tactical mistake.

This weekend, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a triumphant return to Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was shot a few months earlier . The day after the assassination attempt, he attended a rally in Wisconsin. Kamala Harris, meanwhile, sat down in the studio over the weekend to participate in the Alex Cooper podcast. On Saturday, she also visited a Hurricane Helene relief organization in North Carolina.

“It’s time to just storm these battlegrounds,” said former Obama adviser David Axelrod, referring to the swing states that will determine this year’s U.S. election.

“This race is a decathlon, there are a lot of events and you have to do all of them because people want to test you,” he told POLITICO. “We should see more of her,” he added.

Axelrod said Harris should focus on more difficult, critical interviews. The Democrat recently fielded more pointed questions on CBS's "60 Minutes," but there's been no sign she's changing tack.

This week, she once again found herself in the company of well-disposed media and journalists. She appeared on The View, spoke with comedian Stephen Colbert, and radio host Howard Stern. In none of these appearances did she have to worry about being asked uncomfortable questions.

Harris currently leads by an average of 2.3 percentage points in many polls. In most swing states, however, the two candidates are neck and neck. By comparison, in 2020, during a similar period, Joe Biden led in national polls by 9.7 percentage points and ultimately won by a narrow margin. Eight years ago, Democrat Hillary Clinton led by 4.7 percentage points and lost to Donald Trump.

While polls have so far given Kamala Harris a slight lead, the latest bookmaker predictions now show Donald Trump taking the lead.

The forecasting platform Polymarket earlier this week estimated Trump’s chances of victory at a whopping 53.3 percent, leaving experts wondering why Trump’s ratings had improved by almost three percentage points in a matter of hours.

The battle between the candidates has been incredibly close in recent weeks. Trump lost a televised debate to Harris, but then his vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance won against Democratic candidate Tim Walz.

According to Forbes, Elon Musk may be behind Trump's rise in the Polymarket poll, having euphorically supported the Republican during his appearance in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Harris is still two percentage points ahead of her rival, according to an average of all U.S. opinion polls. Polling expert Nate Silver estimates the Democrat's probability of victory at 55 percent

The Democrats had no choice, without a civil war. The BIG MISTAKE was made by Trump to give the Democrats a lifeline by debating Biden in JUNE! The Democrat strategy was OBVIOUS to me...they needed to get Biden out, and showing the country, definitively, that he was a vegetable was the best option.

“ Democrats are starting to say that they made a mistake in choosing the candidate.”

Gee whiz! Who could possibly have predicted this happening?

If the Democrats were smart (and they’re not) they would have gone with Tulsi Gabbard in 2020 instead of Brain Dead Biden.

Instead, Gabbard is on our side now and Harris is literally a babbling idiot.

It would have been an effective strategy, if the replacement candidate wasn’t even more incompetent than Biden. Oops.

Trump lost a televised debate to Harris

I don't think so.

Axelrod said Harris should focus on more difficult, critical interviews. . .

He's right. It would be entertaining to watch. Kind of like skeet shooting.

I guess if you don’t consider her 3+ million plurality in cal, one can say she has a 2% lead. But when you cobble together the important electoral votes, she is not secure, in fact, she will lose. I hope it holds up. I want 45 and 47. Frankly even in his addled mind I think bidet wants that also.

Obama is afraid to be known as the worst president so he picked Biden, then people started saying Barack was so bad he’d be the last black president so he picked fake black Kamala Harris.

“Democrats are starting to say that they made a mistake in choosing the candidate.”

If they thought the polls were real (and they’re not) why would they say she’s mistake if she is supposedly up by over 2% over Trump in all the polls? Trump should be up over 10% against cackling queen

Or if Biden’s decline had not been so rapid.

"If the Democrats were smart (and they’re not) they would have gone with Tulsi Gabbard in 2020RFK jr in 2024 instead of Brain Dead Biden."

The problem is, RFKjr would have also upset the Uniparty apple cart. Instead, their actions drove a dynamic similar to what the EU and warmongers/profiteers did in the US re: Russia and China.

I sure as hell don’t need a Jamaican/Indian refugee making decisions as my future as an American. This is BS. Americans need to start a class action lawsuit again illegals who are coming here to run the country.

The Liberal ‘end-run’ on every known protocol in order to replace Joe with Kamala is a criminal and a very dangerous precedent.

Everything which arises from that is unlawful and tortious. Mostly, I am certain that all involved will live to regret their actions! (if we don’t, already) We will see Nancy and Co. scurry into the dark corners like ants on a recently disturbed ant hill.

To make it worse, Republicans snored through the greatest fraud on American voters since “O’Bozo” got himself smuggled through the back door of the WH (also a Nancy and Co. accomplishment). (Silence may be construed as consent)

This is a question I have. How much midnight oil are Dem strategists burning now working through if they can get away with dumping Kamabla and replacing her with early voting now underway.

What states could they do this and have ballots with a new name? Can any vote for a Dem count as a Dem vote applied to the Dem that the party chooses?

How many friendly courts in swing states do they have in their pocket?

I had thought that Trump made a tactical error in debating Joetato so early but if he knew the Dems were going to do a switch, giving the new person a honeymoon period, then he did right in that he forced their hand and was able to time Kamabla’s honeymoon period to expire before Labor Day, when most people start to truly tune in to Election season.

There’s a big reason why Harris didn’t 25 Biden after “We beat Medicare.” She was kept from doing it, even though all of Demcoratdom knew that was what should happen. Why? Because it would have meant that the world would actually see a President Que-Mala in charge of everything for 4 or 5 months BEFORE the election. The world would actually have something substantive to judge her by and not word salad promises and lies.

It’s just like Nancy said, “you have to vote for the legislation to see what’s in it.”
