What does it take to get off Wisconsin's ballot? You have one option
Robert F. Kennedy’s name will stay on Wisconsin’s presidential election ballot, the state Supreme Court ruled Friday, ending the former independent presidential candidate’s hopes of not competing with former President Donald Trump in the battleground state in November.
In a unanimous decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court dismissed Kennedy’s lawsuit, which he filed in August against the Wisconsin Elections Commission. The lawsuit sought to either remove his name from the ballot or require clerks to place a sticker on each ballot to cover it up.
In an unsigned ruling, the court decided the case on the narrow grounds that Kennedy failed to demonstrate the Dane County Circuit Court judge who first considered the case erred in ruling last month that it was simply too late for Kennedy to have his name removed from the ballot.
“We emphasize that we are not making any legal determinations on our own regarding the claims made by Kennedy and we are not agreeing with the circuit court’s legal conclusions on those claims,” the decision states. “We simply are unable to make such determinations, given the inadequate briefing presented to us.
“Consequently, because there is no basis in this appeal on which we could determine that the circuit court erroneously exercised its discretion, we must affirm the circuit court’s order denying Kennedy’s motion for a temporary injunction,” the court concluded.
Chief Justice Annette Ziegler and Justice Rebecca Bradley, both conservatives, concurred with the decision, with Bradley noting that Kennedy’s “constitutional arguments are insufficiently developed.” But Bradley also criticized the tight timeline Kennedy faced in appealing the elections commission’s decision and decried the potential ramifications of putting a noncandidate’s name before voters in November.

“Voters may cast their ballots in favor of a candidate who withdrew his candidacy, thereby losing their right to cast a meaningful vote,” Bradley continued. “Ballots listing a non-candidate mislead voters and may skew a presidential election. In this case, the damage to voter participation in electoral democracy is real.”
A Liberal Court rules a liberal opinion no shit.
Why isn’t Biden’s name on the ballot then. He won the primaries.
IOW: “this is going to hurt but suck it up anyway”.
He’s on the Kansas ballot as well.
This isn’t a bad thing. RFK’s constituency will less likely vote for Harris.
That’s true, and members of his own party staged a coup d’etat against him.
This is like watching the refs officiating a chiefs game.
I’m not sure if will help the Democrats all that much. It won’t siphon votes from Trump in a way that will hurt him but it might damage Kamala’s vote counts. A lot of Dems don’t like Kamala.
LOL
or Dallas!!
Offensive player has his head ripped off and gets penalized for grabbing the helmet when ne came nowhere NEAR IT.
The reply was obvious.
NFL is a crime family.
But go Jets :)
Election fraud...pure and simple. And the Rats don’t even try to hide it!
The “Liberals-packed” Wisconsin Supreme Court.
I thought we lived in a free country. If I want my name off of a ballot then POOF my name should be off the ballot…but NO here’s BIG BRO telling me just what I can and cannot do, again. What a crock of 💩
Translation: The Biden/Harris ballots we have already filled out and will send in would take too much time to replace with Biden/Harris ballots sans the Kennedy name.
