Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said Friday on CNN’s “Inside Politics” that the changing climate is causing hurricanes to become more severe when discussing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Host Dana Bash said, “This storm was 420 miles wide at one point, which appears to be part of a trend where storms are simply bigger than they once were, perhaps because of the changing climate. What are your thoughts on that?”
Scott said, “Who knows but you’re right. Irma was bigger than our state. This was gigantic. And do you know, the other thing that it seems like what’s happening, is the storm surge is getting worse. We had over ten foot of storm surge.”

We are all climate scientists now.
Absolutely not true.
RFK Jr. and others make a very good argument that our poisoned food supply is a much more urgent circumstance to deal with.
oh boy
“It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt.” — Abraham Lincoln.
RINO retardation.
Why vote for Republicans?
Seriesly?
Do they drug Senators and Congress critters to be this in the tank on Climate Change formerly known as Global Warming (until it wasn’t warming!) They use any occurrence like this to say everything is Climate Change. Hey Rick, our temp was 115 two weeks ago now 75...must be Climate Change.
Sick Scott - You were wrong with HCA and you are AGAIN with whatever climate word people are using today.
It is true. The climate changes 4 times a year. They are called seasons.
The climate has been changing since the beginning of time.
But, man isn’t causing it.
Climate change is here have no doubt
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles scream and shout
It’ll cook your brain and freeze your feet
Too much rain too much heat
Snow coming soon no relief in sight
Tornados and floods you better run for your life
Climate change is here better hide in fear.
They need more money or it gets severe
Hurricanes on the way they’re comin soon
You’re all going to die in the next typhoon
Too much rain too much drought
Run in circles scream and shout
What a moron.
Or we’ve lost the common sense that our ancestors had: don’t build right on the beach in hurricane zones. More buildings = more destruction.
where is your proof of that Rick?
If climate change is real and storm surges I above ten feet will be more common.
Then do the right thing right now.
HALT all residential and commercial permits with twenty miles of the coast.
Not raise taxes on everyone who doesn’t live along the coast.
Why should I, who lives in Tennessee worry about storm surges and hurricanes?
I bet historical records would disprove Scott’s “conclusion”. Bet those records are being swept under the rug as we speak.
BINGO
