We all hope that. But reality is that’s a very bad storm with a lot of wind and a lot of flooding. Several tornados too. No amount of hope will change that. It really sux being helpless to do anything to change it.

A lot of help is converging on affected areas. I know TN has sent a lot of people down to help with water rescues and help get the power back on where it’s been knocked out. I’d say others have gone down from elsewhere too. They always do.

The storm has weakened to 80 mph already. Almost down to TS strength. That’s good news.

That the wind is going down so much is good news. The rain that is still covering a huge swath of countryside will do a lot of damage, too, with flooding.

I guess I’ll have to wait till morning to get the “rest of the story”. I need sleeeeep. See ya tomorrow!

Well, the temps have gone down to 90 and under, so I guess that’s a good deal. The nights get pretty cool, which feels good. We’re still using the AC a lot during the day, though. Darn it!

It’s good news, indeed. Still strong enough to do some damage but nothing like what was done in FL.

One plus (I always look for that silver lining) is that it’s moving so fast. It didn’t wreak havoc for hours like some have done in the past. Some have been as slow as 6 mph where Helene was moving at 23 or so mph when it made landfall. They list it as moving at 26 mph now so it’s speeding up.
A small blessing but a blessing nonetheless.

Sleep well. I’m about to hit the pillows too. Catch ya tomorrow.

Mornin’, beachie.

A bit blustery here but not too bad so far. I’m sure there’s some small tree trash scattered around and will be more by the time this is all over tomorrow.
I did get some decent rain out of the deal but north and west of here is still getting a lot. This county always gets ripped off on rain. Oh well, grateful for what we got.

Been checking on friends in FL and GA and all seem to have gotten through in one piece. Whew! I hope your nephew did too!
