President Xi Jinping has pledged to increase China's support to the African continent with nearly $51 billion in new funding, backing for more infrastructure initiatives and a promise to create at least 1 million jobs.

Xi told delegates from more than 50 African nations on Thursday that China would carry out 30 infrastructure projects across the resource-rich continent, and offer 360 billion yuan ($50.70 billion) in financial assistance.

"China is ready to deepen cooperation with Africa in industry, agriculture, infrastructure, trade and investment," Xi told delegates at a major China-Africa summit in Beijing.

He called for "a China-Africa network featuring land-sea links and co-ordinated development," telling Chinese contractors to return to the 1-billion-strong continent, after the lifting of Covid-19 curbs that disrupted its schemes.

African delegates to Chinese representative: “And all this generosity and we owe you nothing in return?”

Chinese: “That’s right.”

African: “Oh, bless you, our Asian friends. Bless you.”

The Chinese “give” very little. Loans, with lots of fine print... Yes, plenty.

Macron of France is pissed because Russia kicked its arse out of Africa and destroyed its hidden colonial empire. Sucks to be France.

Africa making deals with the Devil?

It’s a deal they will regret.

Exactly. And when those African kleptocracies default (as they inevitably do, the funds having been stolen and showered on family and tribal confederates), the Chinese scoop up the collateral in the form of priceless ports, railways and other infrastructure.

I owe you $1,000, I don’t sleep at night.

I owe you $51 Billion, China doesn’t sleep at night.

And China will probably take $100 billion, as Lithium, out of Africa at the same time.

African countries have learned that Western aid comes with regime change, homosexual agendas, election interference, and stolen resources [like Niger, forced to sell uranium ore to its colonizer France for 2% market value].

Is it any wonder they are welcoming the Chicoms?

African countries have learned that Western aid comes with regime change, homosexual agendas, election interference, and stolen resources [like Niger, forced to sell uranium ore to its colonizer France for 2% market value].

Africans have learned Western aid goes into Dictators Swiss and Cayman Island accounts, and little changes.

Loans are forgiven but the politics remains the same.

Most Africans were better off under Colonialism. There were real abuses, such as in the Belgian Congo. But colonialism brought infrastructure, peace between the tribes, communications, education, and health benefits.

After colonialism, African leaders learned how to swindle the West and their own people.

African leaders expect to swindle the Chinese the same way.

Not easy to see how the Chinese collect on their loans...

Just have another coup or revolution, and default. The new governments says... We did not authorize those loans!

That is strange/funny. I’m completely addicted to Chinese movies and watch 4 or 5 a day. I’d say 80 percent or more of them include some threat to an assistant that if they don’t do the impossible thing needed, they’ll send them to work on a project in Africa. Always scares the assistant silly.
