The father of Georgia school shooter Colt Gray was arrested on charges including murder after it was revealed that he purchased the AR-15-style rifle the 14-year-old used to shoot dead four people on campus.
Gray, 54, has been taken into custody by local authorities and charged with two felony counts of murder, four felony counts of involuntary manslaughter, and eight felony counts of cruelty to children. His mugshot was released by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office Thursday night.
Officials confirmed in a press conference that the charges stem from Colin 'knowingly allowing' his son to have access to the firearm used in the shooting...
The dad allegedly purchased the deadly weapon as a Christmas present to his son - just months after they received an initial visit from the FBI...
'These charges stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son, Colt, to possess a weapon,' GBI Director Chris Hosey said at an evening news conference.
'His charges are directly connected with the actions of his son and allowing him to possess a weapon.'
In Georgia, second-degree murder means that a person has caused the death of another person while committing second-degree cruelty to children, regardless of intent.
It is punishable by 10 to 30 years in prison, while malice murder and felony murder carry a minimum sentence of life. Involuntary manslaughter means that someone unintentionally causes the death of another person.
It´s the latest example of prosecutors holding parents responsible for their children's actions in school shootings.
In April, Michigan parents Jennifer and James Crumbley were the first convicted in a mass school shooting.
They were sentenced to at least 10 years in prison of not securing a firearm at home and acting indifferently to signs of their son´s deteriorating mental health before he killed killing four students in 2021.

You mean to say it is HUMAN BEINGS blamed for the evildoing in these murders?
Not the gun itself??!?
Here ya go

Has any non-white parent been arrested for the crimes of their child ?
He must be white.
>> Has any non-white parent been arrested for the crimes of their child ?
Hey, YOU try finding the non-white dad of the shooter...
(or even learning his name)
But race wasn’t in the story, was it?
Until you democrat posters brought it up.
Buying your son an AR-215 is not illegal at all. You would have to willingly allow unsupervised access and control of it for these charges to be valid. Merely buying it as a gift for him to use with supervision, with the understanding that he will own it when he turns 18, would not be illegal.
AR-15, not 215....
That’s a good point
I don’t know.
Maybe you could do some research and let us know.
there is a video of both grays out hunting, the narrative is going to turn into right wing gun nut soon.
Arrest the Fey Wray too.
and eight felony counts of cruelty to children

Not necessarily disagreeing with all of this but I guess if you let your 12 your old
castrate themselves to transition that’s not cruel and you won’t be charged
Pavel Durov CEO of Telegram told he could be held accountable for the criminals using his app. when arrested in France.
I see something here.
A slippery slope we dare not set foot on.
Since there’s no statute of limitations for murder, can parents of previous child shooters be charged?
From the article:
“Officials confirmed in a press conference that the charges stem from Colin ‘knowingly allowing’ his son to have access to the firearm used in the shooting.”
Of course they will have to prove in court that he did indeed “knowingly” allow the kid access. After promising the cops investigating his son’s online threats to shoot up schools that he would keep his guns safely secured from the kid — if he then went and bought the kid his very own gun and allowed him free access to it ... well, what do you call that?
