DALLAS - Three Dallas police officers have been shot after some kind of violent incident in Oak Cliff Thursday night.
Multiple police sources tell FOX 4 that three officers were shot in some kind of gunfire exchange near the Oak Cliff Community Center on Ledbetter near Marsalis Avenue.
Two of those officers were seriously injured, according to the source. The third officer is expected to be okay.
Police sources say the suspect is dead.
Online 911 records show police responding to an ‘assist an officer’ call in Oak Cliff around 10 p.m.
A suspect led police on a high-speed chase up I-35. The chase reached very high speeds and stretched all the way from Dallas to Lewisville. Surrounding agencies were called in to help.
TxDOT cameras captured the chase as it moved along Loop 12, headed north alongside the west side of Dallas, eventually making its way on I35E and headed up into Lewisville.
Along the way, there was what appeared to be the suspect's vehicle with hazards on.
There was not only a large number of squad cars right on its tail, but numerous officers were catching up to the chase from other areas.
At 12:30 a.m., Dallas police confirmed on X that they are investigating an officer-involved shooting, but did not give any further details.
Police have not confirmed that three officers have been shot or that the suspect is dead.
Two officers were taken to Baylor Hospital.
Dozens of officers can be seen waiting outside Methodist Hospital, where the third officer was taken.
Dallas police are expected to provide an update at some point in the night.
This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 4 for developments.

Forgot to mention - this is Dallas, Texas.
Must have been "some kind of" criminal that did it.
Regards,
The good news, such as it is, is that the ‘some kind’ of criminal is now ‘some kind’ of dead. :D
To be fair, at the time the article was published, the only information was that it was an “officer needs assistance” with no other details available. I think they were just qualifying their statements a wee bit too much there, though.
I know that area quite well. Prayers up for the officers and their families.
Used to be called gunfights in Texas.
Further reporting this morning is leaning towards this being an initial ambush, followed by a possible second ambush that turned into a firefight.
Prayers up for them and their families. Please pray for them.
Lee Harvey Oswald lived at times in a rooming-house in Oak Cliff. Prayers for the police, especially in this situation.
A little confusion. Oak Cliff is South Dallas where it appears the officers were shot. Lewisville is just north of Dallas. I assume the perp was in a chase and got shot and killed up there. News at 11.
More here, FWIW, updated an hour ago...
8 hours later and still no additional info on what happened or on the dead perp.
I thought oak cliff had undergone some gentrification
I had a friend bought there in 83 really cheep
It was the bright shining city of the future in my youth 60 years ago
Where the west began
Well that’s really Fort Worth
Just ask em lol
My daughter and husband just moved to west Oak Cliff. Mostly Hispanics.
Oak Cliff is where I started selling encyclopedias after leaving the army, it was dangerous in in the early/mid 70s but the easiest sales area I ever had, I didn’t allow any of my girl sales crew there but it was great for me.
Kyrie eleison.
It has been nearly four decades since my last visit to the Metroplex but I do remember I-35 and Loop 12.
Also prayers up for the officers who performed a righteous shoot.
The reporter must have been a student of Tim “Bad Grammar” Walz.
It definitely has, but the criminals have mobility - so they can go anywhere and show up whenever. This isn’t actually new at all, just more common than it used to be. Witness the failed University Park carjacking of a Maserati two years ago, where one of the victims shot/shot at several of the crew.
Thing is, there’s never been such a thing as a truly safe neighborhood. It’s always an illusion.
