Either the fix is in, or the DA realizes how this looks like blatant election interference.

Merchan can still rule however he wants, and we know what he wants. SCOTUS really needs to step in. Again.

The DA is passing blame to someone else, namely the judge in the case. The judge did his job, and the DA doesn’t matter anymore. The DA is washing his hands and is pointing fingers elsewhere. Judge Merchan will do what the DA wanted all along. The DA is saying, ‘don’t blame me’, and expecting Merchan to complete the dastardly deal.

today’s news:

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office won’t oppose former President Donald Trump’s request to delay his upcoming sentencing in his Manhattan criminal case, prosecutors said in a letter Monday,

If they think it will help politically, they will sentence Trump and send him to jail.

If they think that would hurt Democrats politically, they will delay sentencing.

I hate to be cynical, but, political considerations will be part of the decision making on this.

Bragg is getting his orders from Team Obama/Jarrett.

There must be a sense that Kamala’s non-campaign campaign is being effective.

But if she falls flat on her face, Merchan can push the nuclear option button of jailing Trump.

This has been a highly unusual case, to put it charitably - but it would be highly unusual for the judge to refuse Trump’s request when it is unopposed by the DA. I think the odds now weigh in favor of no sentencing before the election.

Meaning they are not sure any of this circus is valid...

I would have gone the other direction, the orange jumpsuit would have solidified the black and mojado peel-aways, knowing it would have lasted only an hour or two until SCOTUS could issue the writ of habeus corpus.

But it's obvious that Judge Schnorrer's boss (yes, he has not just one) and the NYAG have been contacted by the SS and told they cannot protect President Trump in Rikers, and that SCOTUS is going to let him out on an emergency order anyway. He'll never serve a day. Period. End of story.

The question is, who did Roberts call to initiate this delay at Alito's demand? If someone were will to reveal those comms, Roberts is out.

Merchan isn’t going to sentence Trump when Bragg is stating that there are immunity issues that need to be resolved.

He must believe Trump is going to win and I’d trying to avoid being prosecuted once Trump is in office. Merchan has a similar interest.

There is no way Merchan can go ahead with sentencing on 9/18 if the prosecutor wants a delay.

They do not change the sentenciong data ? This will go straight to SCOTUS on a petition for Writ of Certiorari with Mandamus in Aid.
