Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that former President Donald Trump could lose the 2024 election to Vice President Kamala Harris if he makes personal attacks the center of his campaign.
On Fox News, Nikki Haley said, “The campaign is not going to win talking about crowd sizes. It’s not going to win talking about what race Kamala Harris is. It’s not going to win talking about whether she’s dumb. It’s not. You can’t win on those things. I think the campaign needs to focus. That’s the main thing. Look, this is a winnable election, but you need to focus.”

Lindsey Graham almost always is a disappointment. How he doesnt get voted out is kind of a mystery to me.
Graham is right. Trump is right on track to lose this election and I can’t believe the Trumptards are egging him on. The future of the nation is at stake here! Don’t you get it? Trump needs to stop catering to the riff-raff and start playing to win.
Lindsay becomes a Republican for a couple of months every four years. He is all Hat and no Cowboy.
That said, he is right this time. Pres. Trump has got to focus on his agenda and not the name-calling, and belittling of his opponent. She is more than capable of doing that herself.
We need him to state the obvious decline over the past 3 1/2 years and paint his vision of the future. No need to delve into gutter politics. Just state the obvious and let “Joy” fade away to where she belongs.
I was surprised to see Graham on “Meet the Press”. I thought he was off trying to start another war. Oh, well. Maybe he’s on a break.
Never trust a guy named Linda. Graham is a turncoat who learned everything from McCainiac
What’s she care? It’ll be business as usual for this p.o.s. either way.
Lindsey desperately hopes he’s right about that.
My wife is as conservative as anyone I know and a staunch Trump supporter. That being said, when she hears him speak at the rallies she practically begs him to speak more on the issues and less on the personal attacks etc.
I think she is quite representative of the majority of women in this country. She senses as do many that it’s not helping him perhaps even hurting him.
I’ll repeat myself…
There is a basic reality in terms of the Presidential candidacy.
Over the years, The Presidency went from a job where the nation wanted a guy who had ideas and leadership qualities, to sort of like the slot for lead singer in Van Halen.
You can have a killer frontman like David Lee Roth, who excites and slays live and propels the band creatively, but who is a trainwreck in terms of everything else.
You can get Sammy Hagar, who is ultra competent but not terribly motivating and not your primary pick for frontman.
Then there is Gary Cherone, who is great in Extreme but lost in VH and, today, nobody can name ONE thing Cherone did in VH.
Trump is Diamond Dave.
DeSantis was Sammy; he sort of flopped once he moved out of 2,000-seat venues to Madison Square Garden.
Harris is Cherone - and even that’s a stretch since Cherone is great in Extreme. But in Van Halen, he’s basically forgotten as are the songs from that VH III album.
In 2024, America isn’t voting for competency. We are voting for the Frontman of America. And maybe that’s ok - maybe we NEED a Frontman more than a vocalist right now.
In this contest, the nation and populism want Diamond Dave. And Dave is unifying people like nobody-look at the rappers with Trump in The Bronx. It’s stunning.
But we need to be honest with ourselves. Trump is a train wreck in terms of personnel choices, and he can get carried away with social media. That is the cost of solid SCOTUS picks and abortion overturned, a cranking economy, and no wars.
Trump will win the Diamond Dave vote, which will be drawn to a guy who took a bullet and unifies people. Harris will get the increasingly shrinking Gary Cherone vote (and again, Cherone is awesome with Extreme; Harris was never awesome, but work with me).
Ultimately, regardless of who gets into the WH, never forget….the American People are Eddie, Michael, and Alex-a monster band that is invariant to the guy in the singer slot. WE run the nation.
No doubt, like Graham, that is what you hope happens, not an honest analysis.
Go collect some more Ukraine laundry money, Linda.
Trump supporters have wanted to change Trump ever since he took up politics. Trump doesn’t change. Vote for him or don’t.
> That said, he [Graham] is right this time. Pres. Trump has got to focus on his agenda and not the name-calling, and belittling of his opponent. <
I agree. And it’s a worthy subject of debate on forums like Free Republic, etc.
But it’s NOT a worthy subject of debate on places like “Meet the Press”. This is a time for GOP unity. If Graham is so concerned, he should send Trump an email or request a meeting.
Airing our dirty laundry in public like this only serves to push a few more undecided voters away from Trump.
Your TDS is showing
I would much rather have a provocateur and showman than a collaborator and auxiliary Democrat like Graham.
Basket of deplorables. Now, we are riff raff? Now we are Trumptards? Got it.
Linda may not win it’s election.
Lots of people know he is a RINO.
The nation is already over. Go shopping and look around.
So we have Governor Chris Sununu and Lindsey Graham saying the same thing on the exact same day. What are the chances?
