Now that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is Vice President Kamala Harris ‘ running mate, his drunken driving arrest from 1995 in Nebraska — long before he entered politics — is getting renewed scrutiny.

Walz was a 31-year-old teacher when he was stopped the night of Sept. 23, 1995, near Chadron, Nebraska. He pleaded guilty in March 1996 to a reduced charge of reckless driving.

According to court records, a Nebraska state trooper clocked Walz going 96 mph in a 55-mph zone. The trooper wrote that he detected a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Walz failed field sobriety and preliminary breath tests.

He was peacefully driving 96 miles an hour

A blood alcohol of 0.128 is almost unconscious for most people. His liver metabolism is obviously adjusted to drinking on a regular basis. Both he and Kamala=boozers.

BAC. By the blood test, don’t lie like his staff did initially. That tripe from his wife is unproven self serving nonsense. A speeding drunk who got off.

If he’d come out and said something like, “Yeah, I screwed up, I am happy nobody was injured by my stupidity. Tha t night in jail, I told myself I’m never going to make this mistake again and I haven’t. Thank you for your understanding”

This would not be an issue. But he didn’t, so it is.

I’d say lucky Canada but they already have enough Canuck commies up there. Haven’t you heard? We should be running guns north. Forget the moonshine.

“Did the mainstream media just excoriate bush for a supposed DUI where the hell are they now?”

Exactly, and nobody defended him.

Shouldn’t use all or nothing terms please. I will admit to being one of those nobodies. Both Bushes were light years better than the alternatives as I recall. Did I hold my nose like I was changing the cat pizz box. Maybe.

We hear so much about “91 felonies, 34 convictions” for Trump, but nothing about Walz’s reckless endangerment of human life? Gee, I wonder why. /s

My sister in law is a drug counselor and swears SCAMala is an opioid junkie and I agree with her 100%.

In the 1990s I use to drive a Yellow cab in New York city for extra money and after a while I was able to read people like a book. All cab drivers develop this because they pick up so many people over the course of just a year, and I always knew who the junkies were. The vocal fry voice which is a voice that sounds a little too relaxed, the laughing, the space cadet rants just like who? Like HER! Scamala Harris!

Brett Kavanaughs accuser Christine Blasey Ford is another one I could see was a junkie. I would bet every cent I have both of them would fail a drug test for opioids whether they are taking oxycotin or heroin

“Walz quit drinking after the conviction, I’ve read.”

Drinking isn’t even the issue. Lying to LE is the issue.

“near Chadron, Nebraska”

That is “remote” Neb., deep, deep flyover country.

I’ve been there a few times and it looks great.

I think it has commercial flights back and forth to Denver.

I’m not sure there are many commies like Waltz there.

“Weight: A 12-ounce beer is about 5% alcohol, and a man weighing 180 lbs may have a peak BAC of 0.043% after drinking two of them.”

So, 0.128 is roughly a 6 pack consumed over a relatively brief time.

I think some or many of us have been to an event where we’ve had a bit too much to drink and then get behind the wheel. It’s not good but at least I can understand that part.

What gets me is the level of drunkenness combined with a high rate of speed and then a reduced sentence. That combination of things reeks of someone who did this often and just happened to get caught once.
