Throw in no money down and no proof of income.
So then the buyer buys $25,000 worth of weed and Cheetos instead of using on down payment. Since no down payment will be required.
House will be foreclosed.
Home owners abandon the house.
Crack heads destroy the house and it gets demolished and destroyed hen bought for less than pennies.
How will the reds “get their money back”
The illegals that were given the money have fled and nowhere to be found.

“$25,000... That might be enough for a down payment on a mobile home, but when the average house price in the US is over $413,000, it won’t be much help”

You’re right, but this is the same type of action the liberals took in the late 1990’s when they forced the loaning institutions to float loans to people who were not qualified. And when the default hit, it was massive. Factors include tax policy, lax lending standards, and failure of regulators to intervene. So when Freddie and Fannie failed , houses defaulted and were being taken back in droves. Several new programs were designed to ensure survival of affordable units and the viability of subsidized housing programs. And that is what is being done with this proposal to put people into houses they can’t afford. They just never learn.

This “first generation” stuff is aimed at Arabs in Mochigan, Somalis in Minnesota, Pakistanis in Virginia and Indians in North Carolina. But not to Americans, who don’t qualify.

The price of my first house was $25,250. in 1966.

I PAID FOR IT.

NOT THE GOVERNMENT GIVING ME $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

ReFIED it 23 years later & bought 2nd home-—a foreclosure for $105,000.

Sold first house in 1995.

Sold 2nd house in 2004.

Paid CASH for this property in 2005.

SINGLE-—Always paid More in income taxes.

Was self-employed from 1980 FWD-—HAVE PAID BOTH HALVES OF FICA/MEDICARE TO USA GOVERNMENT.

Harris needs to be strung up for this attack on AMERICAN CITIZENS

“Great. Now home sellers can list their houses for $25,000 more.”

That is exactly what will happen. Trump needs to emphasize that removing illegal aliens will bring down the cost of housing for everyone (including renters).

“Harris will propose providing up to $25K in down payment support for 1st time homeowners”

If done it will be very inflationary.

Why don’t these people know that they’re is no such thing as a free lunch. Free wheel politics are going to be the ruination of us all.

How is the government to know who is a ‘first-generation’ homeowner? My parents were renters, but my grandparents owned their homes. In any case, where in the Constitution (I realize it’s an antiquated notion) is the Federal government authorized to give money to people to buy homes?

"Hey, buddy, how much ya want for your house?"

"I dunno, how much ya got?"

Bottom line: Houses are basically sold at auction in that the winning bidder must outbid other wannabee buyers. And if Kamala tosses $25,000 in the mix, housing prices go up by at least that amount.
