Inflation rose again in July 2024 for the 42nd consecutive month since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office in January 2021. Yet, corporate media demand that Americans celebrate the 2.9 percent price hike plaguing their pocketbooks as an “inflation milestone.”
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer price index for last month, Americans paid 2.2 percent more for food, 4.9 percent more for electricity, 5.1 percent more for shelter, 8.8 percent more for transportation, and 3.3 percent more for medical care than they did in July 2023. Even compared to May 2024, July’s inflation showed a 0.1 to 0.9 range of price hikes across most basic goods and services.
Outlets like CNN, however, used the data to claim that inflation “slowed more than expected.”
MSNBC marveled that inflation “falls below 3 percent for the first time since 2021.”
The New York Times took it even further when the publication claimed that “Easing Inflation Has Democrats Tasting Victory.” The article quoted former deputy director of the National Economic Council Bharat Ramamurti, who triumphantly declared, “We’ve won the battle against inflation.”
The positive percent change on each CPI report dating back to February 2018, however, indicates that Americans are experiencing skyrocketing costs more than they were this time last month, last year, or even during the Trump presidency.

If you fall out of an airplane, your acceleration will slow as you reach terminal velocity. So don’t worry.
Total bullshit propaganda. Doubt that, go to the store.
Media: Kamala is amazing. Trust us. We have nothing to prove it with though.
Oh yeah, inflation is gone. Trust us. Ignore your own personal experiences.
Orange man is bad. Trust us and forget that things were better when he was president.
Current inflation or not, prices are way up under Harris and Biden. Eggs went from less than a dollar a dozen to nearly five dollars a dozen, gas is nearly double, bacon almost double, and same with milk.
HAHAHAHA
Physics 101
Yap, 3% inflation currently ON TOP OF CUMULATIVE inflation during Biden regime.
The rate of increase of the rate of inflation is slightly slower. Meaning:
Sounds like budget “cuts”
They won’t acknowledge the fact that prices are still rising, but just at a slower rate. All of the cumulative high inflation of the past 3 years is still embedded in the current prices which will not be coming down.
Inflation is cumulative.
If prices skyrocketed 20% due to prior inflation, slowing inflation only means we are now at +22% inflation instead of +25%. The prices continue to rise, nothing has gone back down. Smoke and mirrors.
“Inflation is cumulative.”
And the media ignores that fact in all its reporting.
A few months ago, I took the time to calculate the current cost of an item that was $100 when Biden took office in January of 2021. I started at 4% in (I believe) April of 21 and continued to add up the increasing costs, based upon reported monthly inflation, until May of this year.
I wish I’d kept the sheet of paper I used in making those calculations, but as I recall the the increase was almost unbelievable. Spread that increase among every item and service purchased, and the average consumer is pretty screwed. You’d have to get a 20% pay increase each year just to keep up.
And in other news, the price of gas has just lowered from $3.44 to $3.95 indicating that inflation is under control and actually falling.
Translation:
“We’ve still got you bent over and are schtooping you. We’re just not going in as deep.”
I've been buying "jumbo eggs" at DeLallos in Jeanette, Pa for over 45 years and when Trump left office, the price per dozen was $ .89 and today it is $4.19, and if you do the math, that is a FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY PERCENT INCREASE.
Where in the hell do they come up this 8% price increase?
Bread is DOUBLE and lunch meat is 2 to 3 times as much.
The stats that are printed are just msm double speak and we shop so we know it.
We all eat and we all KNOW what the real prices are.
American people can't do percentages but they can count their money, and they KNOW the reality.
The bullshit numbers will not work.
I still have a photo of the gas prices on 1/20/21. $2.19 and this is upstate NY. It’s now $3.59 on a good day.
Taken from Dusty Springfield's "Wishin and Hopin".
I am hoping your post is missing the sarcasm tab. What is better? Hitting the ground in a nose dive at near supersonic speeds or hitting the ground in a flat spin that occurred in Brazil that killed everybody onboard last week.
my homeowners insurance went up 40% from one year ago
and I have zero claims EVER
