My opinion, it should be broken up. Split search, YouTube and Adsense into 3 separate entities. At least that much. Maybe also split up their gmail and related functions (their version of excel, word, collaboration etc) into another entity.

I don’t know what’s happened to the Google search engine, but it barely works anymore. Aside from Google being evil, at least the search engine used to work. It was so much better than its competitors that I tried multiple times to replace it with something else, only to reluctantly return. But something has definitely changed, because now it never gives me any decent search results…on anything. Half the results page is just sponsored ads and the rest is filled with links that are shockingly off base compared to my search terms.

It feels like they just abandoned it and quit trying.

Here’s where google has gotten scary. I bought a google phone for the camera system. I don’t upload pictures. The whole integrated ad system of google is now scary. I used a new inspection tool at work. I didn’t says it’s name or take a picture of it. I did use the flashlight function on my phone. next time I did a search on google, an ad for this exact item popped up at the top of my search. Way too coincidental and big brother for my taste. maybe I should buy an Iphone next. /s
