Vice President Harris is nipping at former President Trump’s heels in his home state of Florida, a pollster from Suffolk University says after a new Sunshine State survey.
The USA Today/Suffolk University/WSVN-TV poll found Harris just 5 points behind Trump among likely Florida voters, 42 percent to 47 percent, just outside the poll’s margin of error.
Florida has a million more registered Republicans than Democrats, and Trump won the state in both 2016 and 2020.
“Given those circumstances, I was surprised that Harris is within striking distance, being only 5 points down,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, told USA Today in a Tuesday report.
Among Florida independents, the vice president leads the former president with 41 percent support to 34 percent, with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. taking 10 percent.

The DNC pulled out of Florida and Republicans have a ONE MILLION VOTER registration lead in Florida without a single state wide rodent office holder. They are letting children write this crap for them out of desperation.
I am in Florida. Probably the most blue part of Florida. This is FALSE. Republican signs are posted everywhere. Just had a nice chat in a store with some Trump supporters wearing full MAGA gear right in the middle of the store and nobody in the very busy store has an unkind word for any of us. Now that I know they are lying about this, because I see the truth in person every day, I no longer have any concerns about any of these reports coming from anywhere else.
University of North Florida also ran poll after poll showing Marco Rubio losing his senate seat here in 2022
If Harris was 5 points ahead they would declare her unbeatable !!!
IF she is on the ballot, without being a natural born citizen, then Desantis’s office would be open to a class action fraud suit perpetuated on all voting citizens of florida.
The worst DNC polling firms in FL history.
Both have been dead wrong just psych ops garbage.
Rubio was losing in 22 according to these DNC push poll firms .
U of N FL is a black Community college .
Enough said .
The Hill ain’t no mountain and seems kind of WEIRD.
Fake news.
Still, they are what they are. The two Florida polls show that Scott is holding his lead. Couple that with the USA Today poll showing that 89% of Floridians have made up their minds, and this lead ought to stick. It's already better than the 1% margin that Scott won his election by.

Thank you for the Rick Scott polls, PJ2.
I have been worried about the Scott and Cruz elections.
Okay…. Most laughable headline of the day. Maybe the month.
Trump will win Florida 50-46, rest going to third party.
Thank you for the response. I should have been more clear in my post, I believe Rick Scott is enjoying a very large lead just as Rubio did.
What isn't to believe about the poll? This poll is good news. It is the way it is presented. "Harris within striking distance in Florida" vs. actual story being "Trump leads Harris by 5 in Florida" - same information, much different presentation to give a different impression. A 5 point lead in a state already inclined to vote Republican. A 4 to 5 point win for Trump would be yet another improvement on both of his previous elections there. He won by 1.2% in 2016 and 3.3% in 2020.
Nope. Not going to happen.
This is just silly.
No doubt, they’ll keep this up right into November.
This just proved how fake polls are. Did they get Democrats plus 10 or something?
All good, Magnum. That’s how I read it in my mind. :)
I certainly don’t want her to be but the polls, at a minimum, say she is ahead nationally. And Trump will lose if he doesn’t stick to the issues and ONLY the issues. Personal insults and jabbering on about 2020 will cost him.
Yeah but when there were stories about Trump possibly winning NJ , people around here sure as hell believed them.
