Coming from a 28 year vet...one does not misspeak when talking about if they were in war or not. It just doesn’t happen.
How can anyone “misspeak” about being in a WAR?

Mis-speak, mis-spoke is a staple of Democrats. They always seem to do that when the poop hits the fan.
That is all I ever tell anybody. Once my sister said to others that I was involved in the Grenada invasion of 1983 and I immediately corrected her and told everybody my unit had no involvement whatsoever. She had that impression only because I wrote her saying that my unit was rustled out of bed in the middle of the night (just before the Grenada operation) and deployed on the Camp Pendleton airfield. It was only a surprise embarkation exercise to test our readiness for deployment and nothing ever came of it.
It is very shameful for people to exaggerate their military service.
