Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,

Hi. Just checking in.
Hi Kathy and thanks for remembering and honoring our Troops this evening!
Howdy, Kathy.
Hump Day at last! I do hope an early bedtime is in store for you tonight.
Good sleeping weather up there. Rain.
Thank those serving.
Honor those who served.
NEVER forget the fallen!
Howdy, PRO.
How are things up your way? Still roasting or has the weather moderated a little?
Been steamy here but a front came through this afternoon that dropped the humidity quite a bit and it feels decent out there now. Still summer but much better for a few days.

specifically designed to provide entertainment and moral support for the military.
The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.

Good evening, radu...it continues to rain. I like hearing it on my skylights.
How did you and Champ do today? Have you two finished all the needed mowing?
I had lunch with son today so that was fun.
What's new your way? How are the crops doing?
We thank you for your service to our country.
Good evening, Pro...well rested for the weekend? Hope your heat has lessened.
Thanks you. I have never checked in as much as I would love to, but the darn Marxists and stabby zealots are like fleas on my cat. I cherish all our established support network does though even though I don’t say it often enough. Never stop please.

Bible in a Year :
Confess your sins to each other.
There’s a man people hire as they’re dying, paying him to show up at their funerals and reveal secrets they never shared while they were alive. The man has interrupted eulogies. He’s asked stunned officiants to sit down when they started to object. He once stood to explain how the man in the casket had won the lotto but never told a soul and for decades pretended to be a successful businessman. Multiple times the hired man has confessed infidelity to a widowed spouse. One might question whether these actions were exploitative or enacted in good faith, but what’s obvious is people’s hunger to be absolved of past sins.
Having someone else confess for us (especially after we’re dead) is a futile and risky way to deal with secrets. These stories, however, reveal a deep truth: we have a need to confess, to unburden ourselves. Confession cleanses us of those things that we’ve hidden and allowed to fester. “Confess your sins to each other,” James says, “and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (5:16). Confession releases us from burdens that bind us, freeing us to commune with God—praying with a heart open to Him and to our faith community. Confession enacts healing.
James invites us to live an open life, confessing to God and those closest to us the pains and failings we’re tempted to bury. We don’t have to carry these burdens alone. Confession is a gift to us. God uses it to cleanse our heart and set us free.
Reflect & Pray
What do you need to confess—and to whom? What’s holding you back?
Dear God, please help me practice confession.
My old Friend. It is so good to see you again. It has been so many years since we stood shoulder to shoulder in view of the projects on that Buffalo dock. I have spent the last couple years off the net but I am e static to re-see you again. May our savior bless you.
The B52 Bomber Lands at Abandoned Air Force Base After 30 Years

Check the comments below the video:
“Loring Air Force Base was one of the biggest B-52 bases for strategic bombers on alert. In the West Coast, there is still Fairchilds Air Base and Riverside, California used to have a huge B-52 fleet back during the Cold War. I remember being at Riverside International Raceway one day practicing and they had a strategic alert holy crap that was something else.”
“I was stationed at Loring 1975-1976 when I came back from Utapao Thailand. Winter was worse than Alaska and in summer the mosquitoes and black flies ate you alive. Worked maintenance on B52’s and KC135’s. Reenlisted just to get a base of preference and get out of there. “
“Oh, and the flightline vehicles had to chase moose and bears off the runway in the mornings.”
Hey there, Kathy.
The sound of rain is very relaxing, isn’t it? I imagine you need that this evening - - soothing sound to unwind.
I had to turn the sound down because the sound of the raindrops on the cam housing was making me sleepy. LOL
Champ and I got the last of the place mowed this afternoon. Finished the back yard, then decided to do as much as I could at the old house. Got it all done, surprisingly.
Now I get to start the process again with the mower deck down to where I usually mow. A front came through today that dropped the humidity nicely and it’ll be decent the next few days. If the ol’ bum back allows, I’ll start tomorrow. I’m ready to see the place look normal again.

I’m ready for bed now....the day started with me unable to connect to my employer. After 15 minutes on the phone with IT (thankfully someone answered the help line phone) we thought I was in, but no dice. There was NO button to connect the VNR connection. I WAS able to connect with and sign in to the daily meeting. After that was over, back to IT and another half hour of I know not what as he took over my computer. Several reboots, a password change, and 15 minutes of trying to get my 2 screens back to where they were, main on the left, second on the right, I finally was able to join in the fray of payday.
Ugh! I noticed there was a big fire to the west but on the satellite view, I couldn’t tell if the smoke was hitting your area or not. No markings other than state lines. Today, it looks like there are more fires. :-(
Can’t blame you a bit for staying inside. Absolutely no fun choking on smoke. We’ve been lucky this year but last year was terrible.
Not much new here besides the nice break we’re getting from the stifling humidity. The corn is turning brown and dry, as it should be this time of year. The few farmers who planted late have benefitted from the rain we got last month and their fields are beautiful The rain came just in time for them.
