Let’s face it loyalty is not longer a shared value in the USA. The judiciary branch of government, and the judicial administrators in the executive branch, all lawyers, have been completely corrupted. Once we were a nation of laws. Citizens, bureaucrats, law enforcement officials, judges, and attorneys had respect for the law and people generally tried to obey the law.
There are more laws on the books today than any human being can possibly know. Under our judicial system ignorance of the law is no excuse. This gives government the ability to persecute and ruin any citizen it wishes to. The cost of defending oneself, or suing for a wrong, is unaffordable for most citizens. Corrupt judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement have no problem colluding in law fare tor ruin citizens financially and destroy their reputations to the point they cannot earn a living. Any shared values as to what is right and wrong has long ago gone out the window.
Enter Jenna who worked for the president. The deep state, the media, and their collaborators are attempting to destroy Trump in court, end his political career, and send him to the prison of the rest of his life. We still aren’t quite to the point where the FBI can drag people into a dark room and torture them until they confess and agree to testify against the real target. But the judicial system does have the ability to tell an attorney - if you don’t testify against your employer, in the way we want you to, we will destroy your reputation, your career, and incarcerate you until you are elderly. Your life will be completely ruined and there is nothing you can do about it other than testify against Trump using the words we give you, If you do the job, you get to live the rest of your life free. Your choice, choose wisely.
If you are Jenna, you are going to ask yourself if Donald Trump; would sacrifice his life for you. The answer is obvious, no he won’t. Trump has a long history of hiring and discarding people, and often turning on them viciously. Jenna is doing what 99% of the population will do in the same situation. Faced with death, you will do whatever it takes to stay alive.
Unfortunately under tyranny most citizens have to make this decision multiple times in their lives. When there are no shared values, no justice system, a government is your persecutor, not your protector, anarchy reigns. It is a world where every person looks after #1 only, and does whatever it takes to survive.
Consider, a decade ago, there was something called “attorney/client privilege”. When the judicial system held to that principle, it would have been unthinkable to charge a citizen’s attorney with crimes for the sole purpose of compelling testimony against a client. Today, it is routine.

She has no money to defend herself against state prosecutors who are paid by the unlimited resources of GQ Public taxpayer.
In 2025, those same prosecutors will be fired and prosecuted in turn, and Ellis will receive millions in compensation for the misconduct of the state (the way Sztroke and Page got millions from DOJ).

Why do these articles use the term “fake electors” rather than alternate elector slates? Alternate would seem more accurate and less inflammatory

Yes but being on a slate of electors which is not finally appointed to vote in December doesn’t make you “fake”.
My question is (go with it for a minute) - suppose there is a crime called “being a fake elector”. Also suppose you are on a slate of electors which winds up not being appointed to vote in December.
What do you have to do to commit the crime of being a “fake elector”?
