Why do these articles use the term “fake electors” rather than alternate elector slates? Alternate would seem more accurate and less inflammatory
Yes but being on a slate of electors which is not finally appointed to vote in December doesn’t make you “fake”.
My question is (go with it for a minute) - suppose there is a crime called “being a fake elector”. Also suppose you are on a slate of electors which winds up not being appointed to vote in December.
What do you have to do to commit the crime of being a “fake elector”?
