Chevron plans to relocate its headquarters from California to Texas, joining a growing list of companies bound for the Lone Star State citing excessive regulation for their departure.
The Financial Times reports the second-biggest U.S. oil company said Friday it would leave the state where it has been a fixture for almost 150 years following clashes with authorities over climate policies and penalties it has said render California “closed for business.”
The promise of lower taxes and lighter regulation is also often given as a reason by other companies that have also made the same move from the West Coast.

There was a time when California was Conservative and Republicans held the majority in the State legislature.

Great question!
They should’ve been HQd in HOUSTON, to begin with.
Chevron was founded in California
California and New York leading the way destroying their states.
Escaping their crimes against the environment and their global equity reparations obligation.
Many years ago I attended a meeting at their headquarters in Bishop Ranch. Project in Sudan was the subject.
The better question is what took so long?
Now will UNION 76 leave CA for TX?
They had a big presence in SF and then moved to the East Bay along with Pacific Bell-now ATT. Had to be the SF taxes. Now it’s the state. Some never learn.
Oh, c’mon, the commie trash took over — just like all of DC. CaCaLand used to be very business friendly — even when my spouse and I moved here (from Tx) >3 decades ago.
As to moving, Chevron has been moving departments bit by bit for years. Just before moving out thisaways Gulf oil was absorbed by the CaCaLand centered Chevron. That is when we moved here. Chevron was poorly managed and Gulf a vicious little in fighter — so they gradually took over. Now,they are returning to a business friendly enviro.
>>>Newsom will blame Trump or something
Pls keep blaming Trump!
Good move. Socialist California is hostile to profits and legitimate wealth accumulation.
They should be shutting down their refineries in SoCal too.
All of the Seven Sisters will be in Texas eventually.
More good campaign material for Trump running against a San Francisco liberal.
