BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — The Butler County district attorney is sticking up for two local snipers who were inside the building facing the roof where Thomas Matthew Crooks carried out the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger refuted some of Pennsylvania State Police Col. Christopher Paris' testimony during Tuesday's congressional hearing on Capitol Hill.
Butler DA disputes testimony In a letter on Wednesday, Goldinger defended the two Butler County Emergency Services Unit snipers who were reported to have left their assigned building at the AGR complex during the rally in Butler Township on July 13.
In that letter, Goldinger said, "To say that these officers left their post is a misstatement. ... They performed the duties to which they were assigned."
Goldinger said only one of the snipers left the building briefly to chase the shooter after he was spotted. When he could not find him, he returned to the building, the DA said.
"For clarification, neither officer left their post, as was testified at the hearing on July 13. Their post was the building," Goldinger wrote in the letter.
Paris was told the two local snipers positioned at the second-floor windows overlooking the roof took a photo of the shooter and circulated it before leaving the area to look for him on the ground.
State police stand by testimony Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson Lt. Adam Reed defended Paris' testimony, saying, "Our agency stands by yesterday's testimony. The investigation into the shooting and its aftermath continues."
Goldinger also claims the snipers who were posted inside the building wouldn't have been able to see the shooter from where they were. Sources told KDKA-TV that those two local snipers were told to watch the crowd and stage.
The contradictions come amid a whistleblower claim that police were supposed to be on the roof but went inside because of the hot weather. Members of Congress who toured the site in Butler Township say they were told heat was an issue.

Apparently there was no written security plan generated before the event—a waving red flag.
That is what makes the finger pointing possible.

Today’s story is that two unidentified officers were assigned to watch the stage and crowd from 500 feet away, one was distracted but the other was on full alert at the vital moments when Trump began to speak. But he didn’t see the sniper on the roof right beside him.
Any further word on the two cops who tried to get on the roof? That’s because they don’t exist.
After they spotted him one of the officers should have kept him in sight while other officers went to find him.
Overall, I blame the Secret Service for not supervising the assignments, but the locals made mistakes as well.
I’m confused about which two officers are being spoken of each time a new statement comes out by one agency or another.
Wasn’t there supposed to be a police sniper or two in the building from which Crooks fired? If they left their post what did they do with their sniper rifles while they wandered around the building? I would think once a sniper rifle was set up in position, it wouldn’t be moved until the rally was over and Trump had left the grounds.
I believe the FBI/SS/CIA/media/Democrats are muddying the waters with conflicting statements so that later no matter what is stated they can respond with “that’s a right-wing conspiracy theory”.
the cops who actually went up to the roof were not these snipers, but the local parking lot cops supposed to be directing traffic. Unlike the SS, they took the initiative to physically check on the roof.
since they weren’t big shots, the big shots are trying to make them the scapegoats for their actions.

on this video, at mark 4:40, the exterior of the two-story building is shown. There is some sort of piping, or vent material that protrudes about a foot or so going up the side of the building. That piping may have obstructed the view from the right-most windows where the snipers allegedly were.
Is the water sufficiently muddied yet?
Looking at the building on google maps street view, it appears that the windows in that building do not open.
The google car drove through the parking lots so it gives a good view.
So why would they put snipers on windows that don’t open?

End of the Hearing that Wray / FBi is Not investigating the SE actions, like why they walked out Trump onto Crosshairs.

The muddying is 100% Intentional.
Federal Leaks said someone was supposed to be ON TOP of the roof where Crooks was shot.
That doesn’t even explain why they walked Trump out into Crosshairs and the FBi says they’re not going to question anyone as that falls outside their Investigation.

The Secret Service is supposed to coordinate operations with local police agencies, and have on-site communications with them. This obviously didn't happen.
