Marines & Kids---OOH RAH! U.S. Navy Intelligence Specialist 2nd Class Joshua Coats, right, assigned to U.S. Southern Command, supervises a relay race with elementary school kids during Fleet Week Miami at Miami, May 6, 2024. Fleet Weeks are a tradition of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, where major U.S. cities host Marines, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen for one week of community-wide events. Fleet Week Miami, in its first year, is an opportunity for residents and visitors to meet with service members, foster community relationships, and view the latest capabilities of today's maritime services. YAY!!!! I hoped the weatherfolks were right and y’all were getting some relief now. Almost makes you feel like you have a new lease on life, doesn’t it?
We’re doing ok here. Scraping mold off our hides daily due to it being so darn wet lately. LOL

Hey there, radu!
Yes, it’s gradually heating back up. Today it got up to about 92. But hey it IS summer. Monday some are predicting 98, but I’m hoping they’re wrong about that kind of hot. LOL!
How were things there? Was the tent comfortable or a sweat box? Any more rain? Is your yard a yard high by now?

Yes...brain is rattled. In the middle of our morning meeting, one reported that the main program had kicked her out. Then one by one each of us was kicked out. Payroll is dead in the water without that program.
Then we started hearing from the accounting folks...they were down as well. Then we heard from downtown...same problem. Each of us had already sent screen shots to IT. Don’t know what happened, but IT got it “fixed” within about 30 minutes. So that put us behind.
And HR from downtown, and our own accounting department scheduled mandatory meetings back to back starting at 11a. Michelle pushed back and said NO...we are trying to pay everyone today and you want to take 2 hours out of the middle of our processing. Her response from above was, “you can just use your other screen and do your payroll stuff” while the meeting is going on. She said NO again and said we cannot do payroll properly and be in a meeting. DUH!!! They do this all the time...schedule meetings on payroll day.
It has been quite the day.

Ugh! But yes, it IS summer.
We have two more days of 80s, then back into 90s beginning Saturday. Don’t jealous of our 80s though. It was 80 this afternoon and very uncomfortable due to the humidity. The air was thick and it drizzled real lightly all afternoon. Tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be a little warmer and more light rain like today is forecast. That means it’ll be steamy. Yuck.
The grass isn’t a yard high but the seeds stems are. LOL It’s getting very lush out there.

Ooooooh MAN! Sounds like an absolute nightmare today. The last thing y’all need on payroll day is ANYthing to slow you down. At least IT got the program “fixed” fairly quickly but still .....
What is it with HR? They always seem to try to pull stupid stunts. I’m a little surprised by accounting. You’d think they’d know that payroll day is NOT the time to butt in. Good for Michelle!!
Any chance for an early bedtime tonight?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Looks like it was a little warm yesterday. Gizmo seemed to prefer shady areas ...... except for where that smelly spot was. LOL

Ugh. I could almost FEEL that thick air as I read about it. I remember that from living in Georgia. And visiting Thailand. Like swimming while walking. Nasty.
Great that the grass will be seeding soon and making your grass thicker. It’ll be beautiful when you finally have a chance to mow.

Yeah, it’s kinda hard to forget, isn’t it? It isn’t as bad here as it is in FL or LA but sometimes it gets darn close. Based on the forecast for the next week, it WILL feel a lot like that. Not looking forward to it.
I don’t WANT the yard re-seeded. LOL It’s already plenty thick.

Yep, when we first arrived there was a truck parked in our usual spot so we went to another spot and that truck has a grass cutting tractor with it.
We're making the most of the not so hot weather now because the forecast models are saying it's going to get REALLY HOT next week.

I think you’re going to get it re-seeded no matter what...if it doesn’t stop raining long enough for you and Champ to take her down. LOL!
Did y’all have a good day at the tent today?
