Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Ninth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Fourth Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox) to all!
Good evening, radu...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Is your corn getting to dry out? Or more rain coming not exactly when you need it.
Lots of clouds now, but this morning, and most of the afternoon, is was beautiful blue sky. When I left work it was 87 in my car. YIKES!
Howdy, luvie.
How’d things go down there today?
I woke up to a half inch in the rain gauge! It stopped just before I woke up. Definitely warmer today but still not bad.
Hey there, Kathy.
Everything is pretty darn damp right now. I noticed the corn stalks have sucked up water but since the ears have flopped over, it’s too late for them to plump up any more.
It’ll be several weeks before it’s dried out enough for harvest. Still a lot of green on the stalks.
A lot of green in the yards now, where it was very brown just three days ago.
I noticed it was starting to cloud up when I still had the Lake Hood cam up but yes, it was gorgeous earlier today. That’s a spirit-lifter after so many gloomy days.
I figured it must have warmed things up and that was probably welcome, too, except when you got in the hot car. LOL You’ve had a chilly summer!
Hey there, radu!
It was 93 again today, but right now it’s 76 and tomorrow’s high is only supposed to be about 86. THAT sounds awesome to me.
Glad it was still comfy there and bravo that you got some more rain. Are you living in a jungle now? Poor Champ when you’re able to get to the mowing. LOL!
93’s a bit toasty but it’s still better than 103. And you have 80s to look forward to the next several days. Yours will feel better than ours because ours will be steamy 80s. Rain every darn day for the next week. We do need it though so I shouldn’t complain. We reached severe drought this past week and this will get our water table back up.
Not in a jungle yet but it’s sure workin’ on it out there. LOL
I gave myself a haircut yesterday.
And, we also had ribs for supper as well.
Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
We’re supposed to have rain tonight [HA!] and for the next couple of days, but what are the odds? I’ll just enjoy the coolness, and if it rains it’ll be a nice bonus.
I’m really happy your getting rain, and I’m quite sure the soybeans are celebrating!
Guess I’d better finish up this show and head out. I’m gonna dread that alarm in the morning. See ya tomorrow!
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Fun times for Gizmo yesterday. Even found a couple of smelly spots to roll in. LOL
Teeth cleaning and a haircut this week. You’re ready to rock ‘n’ roll. :-)
You might get a little something tonight. Showers are starting to pop up in the area now. Fingers crossed for luck for you.
You have several cooler days ahead and that counts for a lot. Your kitties must really appreciate any breaks they can get.
Sleep well and be kind to your alarm in the morning.
Good evening/morning, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
And a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Hope you are getting plenty of rest.
I hurry out to the deck when I hear them, then keep listening/watching hoping they will come over the house. Elmendorf is due north and all I can see are trees, so I watch for the planes. I forget which comes first, the roar or the sight, but these 2 finally showed directly above me. It was really cool!
I only saw 2 jets, but they were flying in this position as they came out over the city to make a big turn and head back to the base.
Good evening/morning, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thanks for the hymns.
Wow, it hasn’t hit 75 there in a while! No one in chat ever posted the temperature but I knew it had to be decent with the sunshine. Not sure tomorrow will be a good deck day. There’s a big low moving in from the Gulf of Alaska and that’s where this evening’s clouds came from. Not much rain with it but it’ll be cloudy. Maybe it’ll still be warm enough to get out there to enjoy some fresh air at last.
Sight comes first and it depends on how high up there are as to how far behind the sound is. When they’re kissing the treetops, they show up pretty much together. LOL I’m still jealous because I could see where they were and they weren’t all that high when they went over your side of town. Probably rattled everything in the house. Heck, rattled the whole house!
Yep, one of my Facebook friends said that having trimmed hair was good for hot summer days and it is.
I Love that!
I once was buzzed by The Blue Angels while driving on Rt. 128 near Hanscom AFB outside of Boston. It was THRILLING!
Good morning, Kathy! Thank you, and I hope you have a Blessed Sunday, too. And some much-needed rest! (((hugs)))
