President Donald Trump made his first major public appearance Monday at the Republican National Convention after an attempted assassination against him Saturday, entering the arena visibly emotional and with a bandage over his right ear, where he was shot while speaking in Pennsylvania.
A misty-eyed Trump walked into the arena as the crowd applauded him and Lee Greenwood sang his “God Bless the U.S.A.” before Trump took his seat in between his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, and Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla.
Trump’s two adult sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., were seated behind him, and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., was seated next to Vance.

First thing I noticed is that every Secret Service agent guarding him is a man.
I think he’s a man who takes things in stride; but I don’t think he is without emotion. A lot of the speakers while he was there were very moving and were speaking to issues that we all care about.
Do NOT?????
Thank goodness :-)
I hope they were tall enough to cover him, and able to handle their guns efficiently...
Newsmax saw them leave together.
True about PTSD. Might not kick in until after the convention.
Temporarily filling-in for lightman, while he's smashing PA's demonKKKrat voting poll fraud and corruption,

Well, after all he has been through to get here tonight and then gets shot, and to know that the whole event is for him, pretty much, after he has been demonized for years, well I’m sure it was a bit overwhelming for him.
Tucker, Donalds, POTUS, Vance, & Johnson all sat together.
You might want to ask the Mods to fix that for you :-)
Yep, having your life nearly ended by a matter of centimeters has to mess with your brain.
During the shooting, Trump was acting on instinct and adrenaline, no doubt, but later that night, alone with Melania, his thoughts must have been racing in a thousand different directions.
I hope every pony tail is being fitted for a desk.
I think when one has a near death experience like he had it changes most people. How profound a change or how long lasting who knows.
calm, peaceful , and on the verge of tears.
I think he was probably thinking again how close he came to being taken out on Saturday and perhaps the teary eyes were gratitude to God....
I cried when I saw him....and wanted to reach through the TV and hug him. He has gained the love of SO MANY over the past four or five years since he ran for office, won, and all the rallies.
You do not seek unity with the forces of evil.
He may be planning on putting Tucker in as Press Secretary?
I find myself wondering if Donald Trump understands today what Ronald Reagan understood after he got shot during his first term. Ronald Reagan was quoted as saying his life was spared because he was intended for something greater. I sincerely and with every fiber of my being, hope that Donald Trump has that same feeling.
I so look forward to election day and casting my vote for him a third time.
I’m sure that it isn’t lost on President Trump that he may have come close to dying.
But I don’t think he’s someone who dwells on the past much. I think he wakes up every day thinking of what next job he needs to get done.
There is a statue of Ronald Reagan in the heart of Budapest that attests to that something greater.
