I think Trump realized that if he were killed before he had selected a running mate, then the SWAMP would select the candidate. This way, even if he’s killed, he’s put his stamp on whatever administration follows his death.
Now, if he stays in office (If I recall) 18 months and then resigns, then the Vice President can serve out Trump’s remaining term and potentially, two more complete terms. That would, given the right man, enable the Republicans to reverse much of the damage done by the Democrats in the last twenty years.
Hopefully Vance doesn’t try to import more people from India like his family.

I figured that when I saw the video of the multi-car escort from Vance’s home this morning.
If Vance will hold on to his conservative stance and refused to bow down to the left, he can be a successful VP and then serve as President for eight years. If he fails us, he will serve as VP for four and then be gone.
Vance was great in response to the East Palestine oil spill and really stood up for his constituents Hopefully, he will stand up for our nation.
