Donald Trump has picked Ohio senator J.D. Vance as his running mate, choosing a grassroots favorite ahead of more seasoned political operators.
The former president left it until the last possible moment, using all his showman skills to leave the world guessing, before opting for 39-year-old Vance after the Republican National Convention had already begun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Vance swept to national attention when he published his bestselling memoir 'Hillbilly Elegy,' in 2016, the year Trump was elected president.
He has been a senator for less than two years but has established himself as one of the fiercest defenders of Trump’s 'Make America Great Again' agenda, especially when it comes to foreign policy, trade and immigration.
The former venture capitalist and U.S. Marine had initially been critical of Trump.

Most people on her consider themselves to be Christians, which is all about the ability to change one’s mind, and one’s life. Maybe you need to reconsider where you put your “trust”.

METH! My heart has nasty words with me about a third cup of coffee!
Based on what?
You just go to all the threads just spewing all your hate on Vance.

How exactly does Vance help Trump get elected?

He has a different personal style, yet will be able to articulate the MAGA message effectively. That will appeal to those who are open to the MAGA ideas, but who can’t stand Trump.
No different than why we as consumers prefer to buy from people we like rather than people we think are jerks. The product is the same either way...
The problem begins when you start looking for pro-abort Republicans to endorse. Republicans who aren't pro-life tend not to have any principles at all, and betray the Right on other issues whenever they feel a breeze.
There are so few exceptions to that phenomenon, I think it's better to go with someone with enough support on other critical issues that most people today understand--such as the gangster-immigration-human-trafficking-street-crime phenomenon--and we'll pull away more Democrat votes by far than we'll lose among baby-killer Republican girls.
Trump doesn't pick the VP, the party does.
The fact that Karl Rove is whining about the pick makes me feel good about it already!
I’m truly sad to lose my senator. Wish it had been someone else.
Go to Wikipedia, and see the stats.
Think about the impact he can have on the nation as VP vs the impact he can have on Ohio as a Senator.
