The US Secret Service has come under intense scrutiny for failing to prevent the attempted killing of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Former President and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump was injured at a Pennsylvania rally on July 13. The suspected gunman has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old Bethel Park resident.
"I don’t believe that he [Crooks] was a professional sniper, because for a professional sniper, 100 or 110 meters [the distance from the roof where the shot was taken to Trump] is not a [large] distance," Sergei Goncharov, president of the Association of Veterans of the Alpha Anti-Terror Unit and member of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) advisory council, told Sputnik.

People Responsible for Trump's Safety Dropped the Ball
It appears that the people responsible for Trump’s safety dropped the ball, Alexey Filatov, retired lieutenant colonel of the Russian Federal Security Service and veteran counterterrorism specialist, told Sputnik, explaining that the former president's security was provided by three groups: his bodyguards, local police and the Secret Service.
According to the expert, it seems that there was no proper communication between the groups, Filatov pointed out, adding that law enforcement and security personnel for some reason also failed to secure all nearby rooftops in the vicinity.
"It would be safe to say that the security performed extremely poorly," the counterterrorism specialist said. "You could say that this terrorist act or, shall we say, assassination attempt, was successful. Donald Trump’s life was saved by a miracle rather than by his security."
He also expressed skepticism over the idea of some sort of conspiracy behind the Secret Service's lapses, explaining that even elite US security agencies are staffed with "ordinary people":
"There are some rather primitive people at certain positions there, who could have been.......

This was staged.
Watch this BBC interview of a witness, who tried to warn LEO’s about a man on a roof with a rifle.

That is a definite possibility but we don't even know if there was a plot of any kind.
This was a campaign event and a bad shooting would have destroyed President Trumps chances of re election.
And President Trump is not currently the President so we have no idea what the rules of engagement were. Neither do we have any idea of any instructions that President Trump may have given to his security team about avoiding a bad shooting .
It would have been prudent but very bad optics to have the SS team drag Trump off the stage if they knew a threat was near by.
The prime witness in the media did state that the shooter was not visible from the over watch marksman's line of sight from their location.
Until more info is available, I'm going to ascribe this one to the Dual Golden BB - that there was some sort of near act of god crazy chain of events that allowed the shooter to get in place and shoot and even more incredible act of divine intervention that saved Trump from the bullet by the width of a soda strew. Time will tell.
This is the best single sentence I’ve yet to read about the attack. The gunman did hit his mark. But only a wound and, by the Grace of God, a grazing one at that.
I’ve yet to read or hear an explanation of how the gunman was able to reach his perch, with a weapon, in broad daylight, under surveillance by the crowd clamoring for security to stop him, and loose several shots.
Oh look.

Any 8 year old who plays Call of Duty could have done a better job than the Secret Service.
They ought to take the would-be assassins body, strip it naked, and hang it upside down from a tree so the buzzards and vultures can have a nice Sunday Brunch....
We got a word for that in English, it's called "suspicious."
Oh look.
Another poster who thinks they own Free Republic with a bunch of irrelevant puffing on his home page that makes him feel important. What’s next? Calling me a newbie?
Dead faces always look different, especially after a bullet or two go through the head.
The problem with that analysis is two key facts:
(1) Apparently there was at least one SS/police drone that would have seen the shooter. So much for line of sight issues.
(2) The drone intel of a guy on the roof with a gun is more than enough for SS to get President Trump ducking and then off the stage in less than a second.
Somebody in the communications chain wanted President Trump dead.
My my
Mighty touchy.
Tell us about yourself and how you became a Conservative.
Biden didn’t want to step down because this was always the Plan D.
“...There are some rather primitive people at certain positions there...”
You got that right. Those primitive savages are EVERYWHERE in the government. They are called democrats. It is the entire purpose of DEI, to smother all organizations and departments with depraved transsexuals, cannibals and troglodytes.
The only failure they see is that their shooter missed Trump.
1. They let the shooter into the roof.
2. They refused screams by people that there was a shooter.
3. They let the shooter take his shots.
4. They killed the shooter after he took his shots to cover their tracks.
They didnt drop the ball they were well aware of what they were doing
I don’t understand how the SS or even local cops didn’t think to put someone on that roof or at least have someone covering any possible means someone might have to get on that roof. Any average untrained person could look at the situation and know that roof is an important spot to have covered, even if from the ground.
