It appears that the people responsible for Trump’s safety dropped the ball judging by the circumstances of the recent assassination attempt, Alexey Filatov, retired lieutenant colonel of the Russian Federal Security Service and veteran counterterrorism specialist, told Sputnik.
While Trump’s security at the rally was provided by three groups – his bodyguards, local police and the Secret Service – it appears that there was no proper communication between them, Filatov, who previously interacted US security services personnel, notes.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator managed to somehow get on a rooftop only about 150 yards (137 meters) away from Trump, a distance where it is “fairly easy” to hit a target the size of a human head using “not even a sniper rifle but a usual automatic rifle with good sights,” Filatov remarks.
“It would be safe to say that the security performed extremely poorly,” he says, noting that for some reason, law enforcement and security personnel did not bother to secure all nearby rooftops in the vicinity.
“You could say that this terrorist act or, shall we say, assassination attempt, it was successful. Donald Trump’s life was saved by a miracle rather than by his security,” Filatov adds.

was it a screw-up? They are trained much much better than what we saw yesterday. They are trained extensively on what to look for, what to secure, where to place sharp shooters to cover everything- there was no excuse for them not securing rooftops of all places, especially since there were so few rooftops there to cover!
The cops should have immediately alerted the ss that there was a man on the roof with a gun after the group of fellas told them- there should have been NO hesitation at all, and president Trump should have been surrounded by ss seconds after the ss got the alert while the ss figured out what was going on!
The fella that spoke to British media had it exactly right, there was no excuse for what happened. People in the crowd even saw the gunman and were pointing him out, trying to get ss attention. If they could see the gunman, then the ss which were elevated could see him better most likely.

Bongino makes a claim. The briefing lead last night claimed otherwise. It will be interesting to see what actual evidence of security team enhancement requests come to light. If the Trump campaign made the request then I’m sure that will be put out there.
I don’t listen to bongino much. I like that he is a Trump supporter and appreciate his background and his conservative position. But he’s a talk show host now, like hannity, like Carlson. And as such he promotes himself. I listened to part of his latest podcast from right after the shooting and like others, he is blaming the SS detail for failure given his proposed scenarios, none of which are actually what happened. So his premature speculation about guns getting inside the perimeter is just more noise in this case.
I do think the perimeter was not big enough. But whether or not that was influenced by lack of sufficient resources is TBD.
He shouldn’t have needed to request it.
It should be a given.
Someone wanted this to happen, which is, no doubt the reason they are denying SS protection to RFK Jr.
The operative sentence in this article and the only one you need to concentrate on is: “was the Biden regime behind the attack, or did it deliberately do everything it could to allow it to happen?”
